What is the average distance on a ball

2 distance
3 distance
4 distance
In other words does a 2 distance ball mean 2 yds.

I have it in my mind that it's percent. So a 1 distance ball would give you 101 yards compared to an equivalent specced ball that had a 0 distance value going 100 yards.
I have no idea where I got that from so I may have dreamt it. 8 )
