We’ve gotten stuck on Pinehurst three in a row after playing Bethpage first thing last night.

I see other clubs have played those, plus Congressional, Oakmont, Merion, and Chambers Bay.  No easier ones this week?  Pinehurst doesn’t look so bad compared to the others though variety would be nice.

Agree, it’s been a tough go this clash

I guess it can turn out to be more fair if none of the courses are easily eagled, or even birdied.  Then it isn’t possible for the luck of the draw to make such a difference, like one club getting Wolf, or Kiawah, or Par 5’s a bunch of times and other clubs not.

Since I last posted, we have drawn Oakmont and Merion --- so finally some variety.

We had 8 of our 11 rounds on Oakmont and PH2.  So we have 6 courses now why?

On a much more fun note, true story:

When I worked in DC about 20 years ago, some duck waddled out of the Potomac River, crossed a 4 lane road, went another 2 blocks and settled in a potted tree next to a hotel exit.

Hatched 4 ducklings, decided to march them down to the Potomac River ... she had a human escort.  No cars getting the ducks.

So along the way, Fish & Wildlife Service tagged the mama duck.  And she came back the next year to the same pot and had another 6.  Same escort.

    Tom.
