When putting, I assume most click to read putt coming to hole. That being the case, the distance box is always in the way on short putts so it makes it difficult to read break.
Can you make it transparent?
hit the v key on key board and it will disappear
Pressing the 'v' key makes it disappear altogether, the downside of which is you can no longer move it. Press 'v' again to make it reappear.
