Hello. I just paste the response i gave to a friend who was asking the same thing.
Most of the excel sheets consider 2 or 3 parameters. Many people think that each grid = 3 yds of length. That is not correct. I have the proof on the video above. Now...about aiming. As i said there are too many factors involved, such as: Is the wind correct? It shows 7.30 as you are about to hit and after your shot you realize it was 6.30. What kind of shot you are going to take? Flat, top spin, bs? How much? Move along....which iron are you going to use? PW, 9, 5, 3? Move along...how much power are you going to play? 100? 98%? 95? So, to make the long story short, there are too many variables to come up with a precise formula on wind aim for every distance and type of stroke. If you add to that the VEM factor, you realize how complicate becomes. Ooops...forgot the balls you are using too or the irons you are using!!! And all the above is only with ding!!!
