Sorry if this seems dumb, but I'm still unsure about 'meter speed' ratings when I'm checking out equipment in the Pro Shop.  Does a meter with speed 2 move faster or slower than a meter with speed 4? Many thanks.

The lower the number is, the faster the meter runs.

    FAST <<<   1   2   3   4   5   >>> SLOW

And this question is coming from someone who's been here for 15 years, hmmmm... Well, what the heck!

Thank you for the reply, for which I am very grateful, though a short answer would have sufficed, without the additional aside! Anyhoo, when you get to my age, you're allowed to ask an occasional witless question . . . . Incidentally, call me old-fashioned, but logically speaking, a low number infers a slow speed, shirley? Conversely, faster speed is generally indicated by use of a higher number, as with a speedometer! Wottevah, give me another 15 years or so and I should get the hang of it. :-)  P.s. Maybe you & I could play a head-to-head sometime?

I'm sorry you didn't like my comment at the end. But wouldn't anyone find it strange? How could someone who's been playing for 15 years not know that? And I was not saying your question was dumb, I was just surprised that after 15 years, you still didn't know, that's all.

Yes, I'd be more than happy to. Cheers.

    3 2 1 . . . Back in the room!

I shall have to rely on you to organise a game, Simon, so could you contact me at some stage, please, and we can set it up. Many thanks.

Btw, I should have made it clear that, when I wrote the above post, it was only a day or two after I rejoined WGT following a break of approximately twelve years!                          I had been signing in every day for 4 or 5 years, building my XP.
Then I went on a holiday abroad where the destination had no internet.
When I returned, my XP was, of course, erased entirely and set back to zero.
My feeling was that it would not be unreasonable for clients to expect there to be an arrangement available whereby XP accounts could be temporarily 'frozen' in exceptional circumstances.
WGT's response was negative and unbending.
Basically, I had a hissy fit. Pram - thrown -toys - are words that come to mind, and so I decided to rid myself of the daily burden.
Returning to the present day, I was forced into retirement when my family business of 41 years was wiped out in the Covid epidemic.
At the same time, due to ill health, my real golf handicap crashed from single figure and, under the new (ridiculous) american system, rose by a factor of four!
    A multiple whammy!
I think I can hear the faint sound of tiny violins playing, so I shall bid you farewell, Simon, and hope to hear from you again. Kind regards, Jonathan (Juanasteros).
