Having being inadvertently allowed to use Master clubs (due to bug issue now resolved) for the last few weeks I have now had my clubs reverted to Pro clubs which is my standard.  Besides the issue of having to learn the club distances all over again which takes a lot of practice, there are very big differences in how they work.

WGT allows Master players to have higher performance clubs that Pro or Hack.  These clubs are definitely much more accurate and improve your score by a number of shots once you get used to using them.  Not sure what the reasoning is for handicapping players in lower categories with poorer clubs when the course is normally the handicap leveler.  Then again I play regular golf where there are rules to prevent players gaining unfair advantage.  I think that this game should apply the same principles.  If I can afford to buy better clubs to improve my game then I should be allowed to do so.

The Driver:  The Master driver is more accurate and the average length of the drive is + 5 to 10% longer that reported driving distance given.  The |Pro driver struggles to achieve the reported driving distance and rarely even gets to +5% in favorable conditions.  This is a big advantage when carrying hazards on some of the longer holes.

Irons: The average achievable distance is 10% less for the Pro versus Master. Carry distance, that is the distance from ball strike to the first bounce is considerably less so figuring out the correct club can be difficult especially around Bethpage where the green elevations are mainly above you.

Direction:  When striking a ball with he wind from your left or right across the fairway, the Master clubs are able to hit the ball on the line and bring the ball back on the wind.  When you use Pro clubs you will often see the ball move into the wind rather than with the wind,  This is not achievable in real life as it goes against the theory of realativity.  In the beginning I thought it was my imagination but now that I am back using Pro clubs I am seeing this happen again.

Wedges:  I bought some additional wedges for Flop shots etc and it seems now I have a Pro set versus a Master club set the wedges are reacting differently.  They travel shorter distances and also when I use them in the bunker it is almost impossible to get out of the bunker with high lofted wedges.  This was not the case when I was equipped with Master clubs

It seems unfair that we are all not playing on a level playing pitch in this game.  It was supposed to be a game of skill with equal opportunity but it would seem some people are more equal than others.

I can kinda see your understanding but,,your thinking down the wrong path. you was playing master equipment from a pro tee,of course,,its gonna seem like a master has a big advantage,,back them up to a master tee,,add the 25 plus extra yards they have to play and see if they have an advantage then. Have you played very many masters and have to see the the added yardage they have on the par 3's? Or the different angles they have to play,,talking the tee shot on #2 at bp,,the tree to the left. You must no be playing your pro driver right, I get 255-260 outa my rapture all the time,,it's know how to put the spin on the ball,,backspin down wind,,top spin into a head wind. Kinda funny having a pro here defend masters,,but i am. I feel us pro's have the advantage,,given the new tour ball,,the new rapture driver,,and the shorter distance,,i have the advantage,,other than my putting really SUCKS,,lol

Thats a good explanation of your frustration.I'll bet we'll see a similar post when you make Master. While I was in the Pro Tier my clubs seemed to do what I expected them to do but when I got to the Master tier it appears to me that I have lost a lot of forgiveness in all the clubs.I had no problem going low while I was a Pro but for me, my experience is just the opposite. You must ding almost all the shots in order to have a good round. But in the Pro mode the ding was not so detrimental to my round.

The bug you mentioned could of had something to do with why the Master clubs seem to be so much better than the other clubs.Thats one bug I hope I catch.I don't really think there are any unfair advantages between the tier clubs.(IMHO)

Master clubs to me are no more forgiving then any other premium club in this game. It's important to take note of the clubs characteristics when shopping in the pro shop. Keep in mind, most everything in this game has a trade off. The difference with master clubs is, when you miss hit the ball, it reacts with more authority, and the ball lands further in the ruff on miss hits. Then there's of course the faster swing meter.

The V2 Rapture irons are very forgiving, and they play for pro+ players. As a master, I'm using V2 Rapture pros, and I'm finding their not hitting as long as I would like on certain holes. I do enjoy the slower swing meter though.

It's been suggested that WGT come out with a set of V2 Rapture irons for the master tier.

    Play well bheery.
