Some general guidelines for all those who have stuttery issues with the meter.

    1. Go to the control panel of your graphics card (Nvidia, AMD, Intel). Check your resolution to be the native of your display. Most important: Set the refresh rate to 60 Hz or 120 Hz or 180 Hz or 240 Hz.

    2. After doing step one, try out the various resolutions of the game (well...actually is only one real resolution, but let's move on...) in window mode and in fullscreen mode and see if you notice any difference.

    3. If the problem is still there, for those who are using separate GPUs, go to the control panel and activate the framerate while playing. It must be stable at 60 fps or changing from time to time between 60 and 59.

    4. For those who play with integrated graphics (meaning the graphics are inside the cpu), download a program like msi afterburner to activate step 3.

    5. Check the temperature of your PC while playing in various modes (step 2) and the ram usage. There are a bunch of apps out there (msi afterburner has this option too, another excellent program is CPUID HWMonitor ), but the easier way is to right click on your taskbar and go to task manager----performance.

    Disclaimer:

I am not stating at all that all these issues are your fault, but following these steps will prove beyond any doubt that is not your fault but WGT's.

After much experimentation and implementing tips from members, I was able to achieve very little. Removal of ALL processes not absolutely necessary provided little relief. The meter on long shots from tee to green were slightly better, but chipping/putting were nigh impossible to control with the meter skipping, sometimes all the way to the right suddenly.

I conclude that the latest version, with its animations, dot pixels, head bobs, waggles and foot shuffles have increased the cpu requirement necessary for smooth operation on older machine as well as newer machines with a lot of processes in the background. Booted on unsuspecting members without warning or asking advice if we even wanted a club waggle.

It is unlikely WGT will roll back the version, or change the character of its operation. I will check in occassionally to play a few holes. If you play without issue, good luck and enjoy the game. If you are having the same issues as many are, then hopefully some change in the future will correct the damage.

    Good luck to all, cheers.

I found one thing that helps with the meter, leave your tee shot and/or 2nd shot in zoom (avatar not shown) . As far as refresh rates go, I use a tv as a monitor and don't know which rate to use.  My iphone still won't update and i have 12 op sys. Ed
