I absolutely agree on the last paragraph....why new avatars etc...personally I find this is becoming kiddies corner....soon we will have Barbie and Ken doll's also as avatars.

It is making a mockery of the heritage of the Golf game and very disappointing.

I do not understand why WGT even considered changing, fixing something that ain't broke is a good recipe for disaster, which is what we have now!

I tried playing after noticing a new update today. No change. Still unplayable. Screen switched on its own to full after a putt on the first hole. Meter and graphics are still extremely choppy. I'm really missing my old avatar too.

Several attempts last week (an update a day ) to undo the downgrade earlier ,but in vain.

Still the worst upgrade in years , some things are good as they are , listen to the players .

But "don't listen to the players" seems the way to go.

Adjusting variables for bussines sake , i can understand ......but this time it's to much i.e..

Best rated balls for years are now mediocre and  unreliable ,not to mention gameplay in whole , back to the flash era it seems......

Graphics go wrong entirely , read numerous forum posts on this.......

    But whos complaining ?

Everything is now choppy on my Windows laptop, the meter, the avatar movements, everything. It is unplayable. My screen flips on its own to full at the "use a pass" window, and I have to dance back and forth with the settings to get it back.

The legs, arms, wrists all look contorted.   The waggles are ridiculous.   I MISS THE OLD AVATARS!

Here's a question I ask myself all the time...

Why does this company always turn a blind eye to what really needs fixing and instead tinker with things that are working perfectly fine (and mess them up)??

    No, but seriously!...

    No, but seriously!...

In this specific case, I have a theory.

When Topgolf's other cartoon golf game (Shankstars) folded, some of its graphics designers and animators were brought over to join the WGT team.  Those folks were put to work designing and developing avatar movements and new clothes and other graphical changes to the WGT app, website, and game play.  What we're seeing now is what they've come up with, coupled with some pretty pathetic testing by their QA team and absolutely no advance vetting or feedback from the community.  They made these changes in a vacuum.

I don't know this for an absolute fact.  But I think it's a pretty good theory, based on things I've read and heard (mainly in Discord).

You know what, Sam, your theory actually sounds pretty convincing to me. Given the recent changes and the lack of community feedback (as always), it really does feel like they're working in a bubble. It would explain a lot.

So long as people are still buying balls, and passes, and apparel, (i.e. the cash register is still ringing), everything is considered acceptable. That is the only metric that matters anywhere.

Unless people are willing to start some boycotting, and vote with their wallets, then we will continue to get new (unhelpful) apparel, more broken showdowns, and less attention from customer service.

I'm not saying everyone needs to quit the game. Just burn up some of the extra balls in the bag, maybe don't play showdown, maybe cut back on Clash, only use the daily free pass.

Otherwise, we just eat the cr4p sandwich that we're handed, and continue to smile.
