Air shots: Holes #7 & #14
This is the 11th year that the World Cup has been running and we have a great turn out as well with 74 teams!
Which team you play in Round 1 has been decided by the LIVE DRAW on who plays from teams 1 to team 74, The next 6 rounds have picked at random on who you play out of the other 79 teams. Everyone plays 7 other teams in a matchplay format over 7 World cup rounds.
There will be a World Cup League table with all 74 teams on it on a points system from 1 - 74. Following the first 7 round stage teams 1 - 32 go into the Cup, teams 33 - 64 go on to play for the Plate and the bottom 10 teams are eliminated from contention.
Ties will be broken based on total wins. If still tied will go to total draws. If still tied we will countback starting with round 7 points gained, then round 6, and so on until tie is broken, the best points round moves on.
WORLD CUP GAMEPLAY RULES - ROUND 1
Any player with a –2 by their name must take an air shot on holes #7 and #14 in round 1 @Erin Hills. There is an example on page 1 of the forum on how to take an air shot.
If a mistake has been made on air shots not taken it must be replayed from the point of the shot/hole and this could take time, so be aware please that you know which holes they must be taken on before the match starts, that’s for both players. If the match is completed the result will stand.
Each WC match will have a 2 week timeline to complete,
Each WC match will be played to a win, draw or lose, no sudden death 18 holes,
Any players refusing to play will forfeit their match,
Any matches not completed on time will be looked at by the world cup team and a decision will be made on the result depending on evidence of contact supplied,
Once a WC match has been played the result will stand. So it’s up to all players to check the opponents tier before start of play,
I would suggest a 90 sec shot clock with maximum timeouts, there’s no panic to get the game played and have a chat in-between,
If both players agree they can have 60 or 45 that would be their choice,
NO APPAREL IS TO BE USED AT ALL,
No focus boosts will be allowed during matches. Use of this tool will lead to a disqualification,
Any team members giving advice on any shots/putts to another player on any chat forum and found out, the player and the adviser will be disqualified from the rest of the comp.
Captains
All captains must use discord and be in the WC Discord Captain's room for WC25.
When you send your 8 player lineups during the group stage rounds, it's your choice what order you want them to play in for each matchplay game. Whatever order you send is the order we will post on the matchups. Only send the player’s assigned ID number & player’s WGT name.
EX. 231 JoeGolfer
234 TinCup27
241 SeveBallasteroids
233 Cupseeker
etc. with 8 players for Group stages or 9 players for Knockout stages
It's a bit like the Ryder cup, you have no idea what order the other captain will post and that’s the beauty of it.
Send your line ups to one of the World Cup Team → Discord or WGT Message
If we do not receive a team lineup by then, we will use the same lineup as the current round. This is because we do not want to have to chase lineups or delay the start of the next rounds… Cheers
It is the responsibility of the Captains to make sure all of your players have read and understood the rules and to also post them in your club forum.

BOUNTIES FOR 2025
For this year we will have 15 players putting up bounties. If you are the first to defeat one of the bounties you win 2 sleeves, 1 from the bounty player and 1 from the Bounty Council. And if the bounty player can win all their matches they keep their sleeve and win the sleeve from Council themselves.
Bounty players are asked to play a minimum of 5 of the 7 regular stage rounds and all of their team’s knockout stage rounds, unless extenuating circumstances arise.
THE BOUNTY PLAYER STILLS WINS A SLEEVE, IF UNBEATEN WHEN THEIR TEAM IS KNOCKED OUT IN THE KNOCKOUT ROUNDS.
All Undefeated bounty players will have this symbol next to their name in the fixtures of each of the groups until they are beaten.

You can see who's playing who for the bounties and how they are getting on over the rounds, there's link tabs for each round if you click on them to find a match up.
If your playing against a bounty player and it's still A/S at 18 holes, you will need to Carrie on playing till there's a winner for the bounty - TEAM SCORE WILL STILL BE A DRAW

If you don't have a screenshot you can ask your opponent to prove the shot by posting in the WGT CTTH Forum Page or on the WC CTTH Discord channel by a short message.

Next to the CTTH on the website you will find the SHOT PRIZES which will run throughout the World Cup and you will find the HIO’S, Double Eagles made with the other shot prizes which include the Longest Hole Out and Longest Putt, which run throughout the whole of the World Cup.
Any prizes not claimed will be carried over as double the next round.
REPORTING YOUR WORLD CUP MATCHPLAY RESULTS -
You will need to post your results in the Finny’s World cup 2025 forum here - FINNY'S WORLD CUP 2025 OFFICIAL FORUM
Each game being played has its own Tie # on the side of each game, use this number, with Group # and Round # and also will need the result posted as win/draw or loss, with a message summarising the match you had together.
IE- Group 4, Round 5, Tie 869 then the message about the match.
Let’s keep the forum busy but no negative comments from anyone, if you have a problem contact your captain first and they will contact the other captain. We don’t really want to be involved unless we have to.
THE FIXTURES MAY SHOW 1-2 hours before the WC25 starts time of MIDNIGHT UK TIME.
