    Hey everyone,

To continue bringing you the best game possible, we have updated the technology that powers WGT Golf.

This week we'll begin rolling out version 187.1 to users on Android devices. This is where our minimum requirements have changed from Android 5 to Android 6 (Marshmallow), which means some older Android devices will no longer be supported.

In addition, at the end of the months update (version 188) iOS minimum requirements will go up as well changed from iOS12 to iOS 13.

LOL 😂 I'm not sure how much of a "poop storm" this minimum requirement update will stir up, but considering Android 6 devices are nearly a decade old now, isn’t it about time for an upgrade anyways? 😉

Of course, I can understand why some might push back on this, but still... it does seem like a reasonable shift to me.

My brother recently gave me an old Samsung tablet that was condemned to Android 5.

Using it though was what I imagine swimming in treacle to be like, sluggish! Shame really as it was in perfect condition.

I would whole-heartedly agree with you, yet I still see people griping about Mac/Windows operating systems older than that not being supported.  I just had a discussion with someone a few weeks ago about their Windows XP not being supported by WGT any longer and how it's not fair because they cant afford to upgrade.  When I mentioned that it's so old that even Microsoft themselves no longer supports it they just disappeared from the conversation.

I understand everyone has different financial situations and some are on fixed incomes and all that, but if you can't scrape together enough to upgrade from technology 10+ years old, maybe you've got more pressing issues than playing WGT 🤷‍♂️.  I have some disposable income but I'm currently playing on a Win 11 laptop I picked up for under $300 on Offer Up and it works perfectly fine, so it's not like it needs to be a some top of the line gaming rig that breaks the bank.

Care4calais charity will take it off their hands , always needing mobile phones for asylum seekers who do t mind about it being sluggish as long as it works .

Thanks Lesley. I'll relay that to my brother as I gave it back to him.  ; )
