MBaggese: I never had a problem holding shots with the G10's inside 150-160 yards, as I recall, most approaches were with wedges and short irons.
As a Master with G10s, I beg to differ... my 4 and 5 irons getmore use than wedges for approaches on par 4s -- not to mention all the long (with G10s) par 3s (194, 204, 207, 202, 193, etc.) A few par 4s are usually unreachable. Granted, I don't have the R9.
Interesting...I used the G10 driver, 3wood and irons into Legend this year, I just don't remember using a long iron into a par 4 that often, and don't ever recall finding any unreachable par 4's.
I also used very inexpensive balls then as well.
I'll have to set up some practice rounds and look at the cards...I might just be showing my age;)
Edit:
After a quick scan through the courses, I can see that BPB still plays long for Master/TM...where the burners could help.
The other courses, unless I misses something, I don't think it's cost effective for the one hole good stopping power would be needed.
I didn't look at Oak tho, but iron play is only a fraction of score there, as sometimes it's easier to put a 30 footer closer to the hole than a 6 footer;)
