Saint Andrews hole 17 has always been a challenge for me moving across tiers and still is, I was -4 up before the whole and ended up wasting 3 on it for triple bogey. Any valuable advice will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

    This seems to work.

Seriously it is a tricky hole and a thread i have thought about starting.  I think not bashing the drive as hard as u can and just trying to land it on any decent piece of Fairway is a good start.

Keep it in the short grass.  Stay out of trouble.  Lay up if you've got a short game.

Valuable advise?  Probably not.  Just stating the obvious.  Oh yeah, you misspelled "hole"  Good Luck.

What works for me is trying to land the  approach shot a bit short and right of the flag.

that is a good call Donko especially when the flag is further back on the green, for example than in my replay.  I think it may suggest that in the Hole Info. for that hole. Also, as u approach the green, left of the bunker that sits next to the hole is Fairway not rough and not a bad place to miss-hit it.
