Does adding "top spin" to the drive always result in longer drives? I've adopted this as a practice of almost every tee and was wondering if others do the same.
Thanks !
The short answer is no.
Generally if you have a tailwind BS will create a longer drive because it puts the ball up in the air more.TS is more for into the wind to keep the ball lower.
Happy hitting
Uh-oh... I thought I was getting more "air" by using TS into a headwind...
... back to the practice course I go! :/
Full backspin off the tee works opposite if what it does off the fairway. Off the tee it helps the roll after landing. From the fairway though it slows down the roll after landing.
