I'm new as of today and I cannot find this anywhere on Google or on this site. When you are in the rough and it lists the percentage of lie at the bottom, does that mean you take that percentage and subtract it from the total distance or it will only go that percentage max? I don't even know if this is the right place to post. Any help would be great.

No. It really only gives you an idea of how deep the rough is: it's a percentage of how much of your ball is buried. You'll have to figure out how much effect it may have, there's no easy answer except: the lower the percentage the less the effect and the lower the loft the more the effect. 30/40 rough you can still get a decent shot with mid-high irons; 40/50 is tough and above that it's a punched wedge to nearest bit of fairway

Type "rough" into the search box over there>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
