You are replying to a 12 year old post, and what OP was referring to was in the old Flash version. In the new version you can select Game Modes->Single Player->Stroke Play->St Andrews->Front 9 and play your way through the first 8 holes. Or you can do the same steps and select Random 3 instead of Front 9 if you are feeling lucky that #9 will be one of the 3 holes selected by the WGT computer. Would be best to do practice mode so you can set green speed and winds to your liking if you are trying to test wind effects on putts.
**edit** was just thinking about this, and if you are in a CC you could ask one of the directors to set up a custom course and pick the holes you would like to practice in a specific order, then set up a practice tournament with high winds?
