Seem to be having a inconstant performance with the R11 irons and Cleveland wedges.

How much are you guys adding or sub. for every MPH wind 12:00 1:00 2:00, and 3:00

For me, it varies depending on the amount of spin used to slow down or speed up the ball upon landing. Generally though, I figure a half yard per mph, when its relatively straight on. So, for a 10 mph 12:00 tailwind, I would subtract 5 yards off my club and it should be close. When I am further away (175-225 yrds) and have a strong headwind, like 20 mphs coming straight at me, I will be more likely to add 20 yrds instead of 10 yrds, and take a dot or two of the back spin off so it wont roll back as much. Has been working pretty consistently for me. As far as the 1,2, and 3:00 go, it will vary and be somewhere in between those other #'s, you just need to practice. Just my opinion, good luck.

It's just calculated guess work. I have no formula, I just do what feels right.

When RSG came out a few months back, I discovered that a 20 MPH wind there had much more effect than a 20 MPH wind did at Standy's.

So that tells me each course is different, and as pisstake says it really comes down to feel.

    SWAG it

Simple Wild Ass Guess it's WGT wind after all.

20mph right to left isn't always 20mpg right to left.....

Check the wind at 2 places, where you are shooting from and where you want the ball to go.

it's amazing how different it can be....

then SWAG it as I understand it the R11s have more loft so they are affected more by the wind.

and remember it's WGT wind not real wind......

If I knew that, I would have made millions at the Casino. Just play by feel, get one thing now and another later, good guesses, bad ones...also depends on course and elevation, and the f... VEM thing that gives you headaches. sometimes a 10 mph wind makes the ball go 4 yds right with a wedge but is crap in 200 yds with an iron. I don't think there is a formula. Just use more of this and less of that according to wind direction and elevation.... and pray.

Try this as a starting point, then tweak it to match clubs/course/spin.

    Divide distance in half.

Consider the resulting number to be the percentage of the wind speed effect in yards as opposed to MPH.

    ex: Hitting 150 yard shot into a 12 MPH headwind. 150 + (75% of 12) = equivalent shot 159.

This is far from hard and fast, but I've found it useful for at least getting somewhat closer.
