  I'm considering getting a different driver and I prefer the slower speed. Is it better to have more precision than forgiveness w/5 more yards or more forgiveness and less precision.

  ping G10 driver is the best in my book used it till i made master and it did very well for me

  I  would wait until you level up to 62 and buy the R9.   Equal dots of precision and forgiveness will keep you in the fairway.

  I'd wait and get the level 62 R9 driver, extra yardage is needed for master tier. I found the forgiveness and precision between it and the G10 unnoticeable. 

  I bought the whole set of G10"s and ended up buying the level 62 TM R9 driver after, if I had my time back I would have bought the G10 irons and the TM R9 driver separately, as far as meter speed goes, the G10 and the R9 drivers are the same.

  The faster meter speed you will have to get used to eventually. I was able to adjust to the speed without needing a ball to slow the meter.

  Ask yourself this-how precise do you really have to be in the fairway? It's not like you're trying to stick a drive in a certain spot off the tee, for the most part.

  I prefer the G10 over the L62 R9. The R9 is longer, but to me it's a little wild. No, you're generally not hitting to certain spots, but the G10 has more control. One or two more missed fairways and a stroke or two per round is a big difference. Plus, the longer the drive, the more likely it is to miss; 270 is more distance than you need from pro tees. I have the 280 yd R9 and still use the G10 pretty often from the master tees.

  If you like a slow meter, the Rapture L48 is a very good driver and has enough distance for the Pro and Tour Pro tees.  You probably will want to replace it, once you hit Master, but it's a great transition driver for us meter speed challenged folks.  Going from Starter Plus straight to the R9 or G10 might be a bit too much for some of us.

  In the mean time, you can get used to faster meter speeds by getting better wedges.

  And to more directly answer your question, for drivers, I think yardage and meter speed are more important than either precision or forgiveness.
