    Hey everyone,

I recently got some great advice here.  ( I bought the L39+ Taylor Made Z Satin 64 degree wedge )..  Wow it is excellent. I am a Pro 82 , as the title states, what should I do...  Any suggestions, much appreciated.

I'll repeat my former proposal: Get yourself closer to the greens with an improved WD. It will help to get the new wedge into action more frequently.

Alosso likes his 3W but will soon learn it isn't enough.  :-)

A decent driver is going to get you the length off the tee that will put the shorter irons in your hand on the approach. IMO, since you've discovered the benefits of a decent wedge, I would go for a longer driver and then another wedge, like the 77 yard Satin. There's a good wedge thread going here (skip over the ignorance in the first 2 pages.)

OK, you liked the last advise so here my .02 again.

A 3 wd off the tee, will not count as a fairway hit, don't know why, but it does not. So if you don't want stats like mine (66% because I hit a lot of 3wds off the tee, when I was a pro and tour pro) then get another wedge.

Then save your credits and get a whole club set, try to get a set with the meter speeds all the same, and don't be afraid of a faster metered clubs. Your going to have to get used to them sooner or later if your going to advance past master level. And I believe some of the Taylor Made, and Ping club sets come with the wedges also .... something to think about.

They do, the lvl 39 Taylor Made Burners come with wedges, as do the lvl 42 and 60 Ping G-10s. They come with Driver, 3 WD, Rescue WD, Irons 3-PW, and 60 and 54 Degree wedges. Your goal would be to hold off as long as you can before buying a club set. That lvl 60 set is very nice, and would be playable as legend, but you would be at a disadvantage to everyone else that has the lvl 90 r-11's. But would be just fine for pro thru tour master. This is also the cheapest way to go as the give you a discount for buying a whole club set.

Would have been nice if you would have asked this question 2-3 weeks ago, then you could have tried all these clubs for free, on free club rental weekend. And I would imagine another would be coming soon, probably the first major of the year?

If you just can't take it and have to get a Driver, get the best you can. Even if it means waiting a couple levels before you get it. But I would not buy a putter until i tried it out first.

I like YankeeJim's advise also. Go read that wedge thread.

you can buy the r11 from Taylor  i used it all the way to master 254 yd   it was more forgiving then the ping (i tried both) and generally i out drove the ping.  the meter was not fast etc.  now i am 66 and finished as a tp with a 63 avg.  at master i had to buy all new clubs and relearn the meter speed.  i also used the 1 set of irons that Taylor made had all the way through.   so that ought to carry you for a while unless you believe you can deal with a faster meter.  i found that keeping the ball in the fairway was more important then driving it 300 and in the rough.  i believe i avg  270 with the r 11 and used English with success.  good luck strikerseasy

yep, but not too soon - heading to be the next Lvl 90 TP ;->

My proposal for PW is only meant as the next step of his buys - that's what he asked for. IMO a Pro player with 80+ avg might be better off this way. Now he has the nicest of wedges for short recoveries and a 3WD might be a good extension on the long side.

There are so many Pins in the front of the greens (starting with STA #1), Therefore, those who want to be as perfect as can be need a full set of custom clubs&balls anyway, for the backspin. I'm not jumping on that band wagon yet - dunno what PW wants.

I admit that my preference is driven by two reasons:

    1) Wanna save my Euros for real balls & green fees - play here jff until I can go out again,

    2) my index finger is too inconsistent for those long guns. I tried the L49+ Raptor 9.5 2010 (L47+) and missed too many FWs.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone..  I already bought a driver, so I think I will go with the 77 yd Z Satin wedge.  I am not in the position to buy a whole set of clubs.  Also I thin kI would like to wait to LVL 90 for the R11's....  Thanks again see you on the course :

Maybe only 450,000 experience points for you at level 84.  But I'm at level 83 equating to 4 trillion experience points to get to level 90.
