    drakeshead:

Hi can anybody tell me why hole 17 is 515 yards on WGT but at St Andrews it's 495 yards.

It was extended by 40 yards not 60 yards.

It depends on where the pin is.  You will notice that it is two different yardages for the 2 different pin positions.

I always thought hole yardage is from Tee to the middle of the Green not were the pin is.

You're right... for a real life golf course, but on I think on WGT it's to the pin.  Not only that, but it's to the pin following the centre of the fairway I believe.  For example, hole 10 on St Andrews of TM tees is 330yds.  Yesterday my ball went 328yds and was many yards past the front pin.  I don't know what it is off hand, but I believe the left pin has a different yardage.

A better example is the par 3 8th; the front pin off Legend tees is somewhere between 160-180yds (can't remember now), but the back pin is over 200yds.
