Next up, the 2001 World Series special edition avatars featuring Arizona Diamondbacks Luis Gonzalez, Randy Johnson and Curt Shilling with Byung-Hyun Kim as their caddy carrying all three bags.  I promise to gift those to you Yankee Jim.

Yes, even tibbets lost a time or two in his tenure. Was a bummer watching Mo give up one of his patented broken bat hits to lose it too. Like I told my pitcher son in high school after he gave up the hit that lost a 9 inning thriller-it isn't that you lost it's that you learn from it and grow stronger. Took the Yanks a few years but they got it right with the core of that 2001 team.

@Oak-Not sure what you mean but I believe history dictates you learn and move on. To stay mired in a controversy for the sake of diminishing current events doesn't lend itself to moving on. To not forgive ARod and his ilk is not right. I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Back to the original OP pictures...why does Jeter have starter clubs? and to YankJim...The Hall of Fame DOESN"T give the benefit of doubt. Go Tribe! :)

Jeter's like those masters here that work their ***'s off to stay competitive. His talent levels the field and he plays with the free glove and spikes! LOL

Having been to the Hall of Fame and played many games on Doubleday Field I can tell you the HOF is impressive with its history and game artifacts. The section for the women's league brings tears to your eyes. The scene at the end of League of Their Own where they open the display comes immediately to mind when you walk in there. Very impressive and historical.

To sully the memory of the game's real greats by adding ARod, Giambi, McGwire, Bonds and all the other "users" would be a disgrace but it's going to happen. Hopefully they will distinguish them with asterisks or something. Keep in mind players are elected by the common folk (writers, broadcasters, etc.) and short memories will drive them. Oh well.

Oh and btw-thanks for CC, boff.

Two things my friend... one, most of the "common folk" have an agenda to voting inductees... (which six morons could EVER, EVER, EVER think that Nolan Ryan didn't deserve a unanimous vote?!!  which eight friggin' idiots left Cal Ripkin off theirs?!!?)  There are so many different agendas, and whatnot, that the baseball writers and broadcasters should never, never be allowed to vote another player into, or out of, Cooperstown.

Second...I have to disagree with the 'short memories'...  if that were so, Shoeless Joe would be in Cooperstown with some of the other 'BlackSox".  Also, do you think Charlie Hustle will get in?  Not while he's breathing and then some, imho.

PEDs have destroyed baseball... (well, that and the work-stoppages).

They should just blow it all up and start over... make a new sport.  Perhaps they could combine Baseball and Hockey!

Right on, Snaike. That hidden agenda is as stupid as letting the fans vote for the All-Stars. As for Shoeless and his boys stick them in the same category as Rose. For some reason it's worse to gamble than use drugs. Figure that logic.

You can't blow the game up simply for the tool it is with the young ones. Hardcore old-timers will grouse about the impurity of the game today but it's not going to change anything. The money end of that changed everything. It's a team game with many life long lessons to be learned from it.  Yankee spending aside, the team is successful when they are just that-a team. No egos or attitudes. It serves as a good example of what it takes to actually win. Even guys like ARod serve up a lesson in how not to do it (although explaining his numbers gets a little dicey with junior.) I'd like to think the game is clean now.
