I just had a neighbor sign up to play wgt. Is there a way I can make him a friend as we have not been able to pay together yet.

Find out their user name, then you can search for them via wgt community drop down menu, then click on wgt players and there is a search option, type in their user name and you should find them, just do a friend request.
