It would be great if a player could click and drag the impact bar left or right of center, in order to get a better visual when trying to draw or fade the ball. The impact bar would then go back to the center on the next shot.

Will we ever see avatars that resemble real life players, even players of the past? I would like a Ben Hogan Avatar

    Thanks

Great question.  Suprised it has not been asked before.  EA Sports created one for the 2005 Tiger Woods game but it was a truly awful representation and was not included in later games.

We are creating as part of making the new dvd for 'The Five Lessons, The Modern Fundamentals of Golf' a high definition realistic Ben Hogan Avatar.  Based on the drawings from Anthony Ravielli we will improve the realism, proportions, and swing motion of Mr. Hogan.  Motion capture technology along with the magic of computer graphics will allow us to have Mr. Hogan present his fundamentals and demonstrate them in the dvd.  The avatar will be available for downloads for various purpose after that.

We hope to have this completed this year!

Well, I want the Arnie Palmer avatar (circa 1960) with the whacked out swing! Complete with the avatar puffing on an L&M cigarette while putting.

Stop the presses….whoa nelly…mcctee statements can’t just slide by …this is great stuff.

Please tell us more sir, if what you say is true.

It was the first golf book ever given (which I later purchased) to me years ago.

Hogan’s reputation on the course was well known (except for the fists pumps, does this sound familiar?)…

However, his descriptions in the book made you feel like he was right there saying “you can do this”.

The artist in me always appreciated Anthony Ravielli’s drawings too.

To Doublemochaman:  Palmer and Hogan avatars more than likely would get in a fight …lol
