    Congrats again, Nivlac.

I didn't want to put this message with the announcement thread, (in fear of "someone" coming in and getting it locked, or worse, deleted altogether), so I figured I'll start it here.

Do you remember your campaign promise of 9/19/2009 (here)?

    In it, you said:

    nivlac:
Future quitting threads should be locked immediately and appended with the official WGT statement.

"We are working on ways to deter quitters.  Thank you for your patience in this matter."

There is no valuable conversation here and no ideas are being exchanged.

This is, without a doubt in my opinion, the 2nd highest rated priority in any forum moderators position here at wgt.

I so look forward to you taking on this challenge.  Good luck, sir, you're gonna need it.

    Peace =^)

Ah how one's perception (mine) can change over time... =)

Quitting threads will certainly be taken care of when they get out of hand which they tend to do on occasion.  However, I don't believe that I'd be doing a good job as a Moderator if I was locking threads full of civil discussion and idea exchange (which some quitting threads actually do promote).

As a general rule, as long as the discussion remains civilized, calm and friendly then you'll never ever have anything to worry about.  Once it starts to turn sour is when the padlock pictures come out. =)

Oh now, isn't that just the way of it...

First day in office and back-tracking on the constituents...

"Depends on what your definition of 'is' is."

    LOL!  No worries.

    Congrats as well Niv,

It is with great hope that I ask you to please be very objective and try try try as you can to get WGT to start handling threads that turn sour by addressing the posters who turn it in that direction, and removing individual posts instead of locking entire threads.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you understand what you are getting in to, lol.

Oh, and then there's this - I'm SO happy it wasn't the 'other' guy.

Nivlac... how much do you know and when did you know it? After the storied St. Andrews comes online which course is next on tap as a full-fledged layout?

So you want me to set the record for quickest hire and fire eh? =)

Obviously, I can't give out any information that isn't already publicly available. Also please keep in mind that my position doesn't require me to be privy to everything that's in the pipe, so a lot of times your guess will be as good as mine.

    Niv,

If you don't mind me asking, is this a volunteer position, or are you an actual WGT employee now? Or if it isn't any of my biz, just tell me so. Are you doing this from home, or at the office?

If you're worried 'bout that, you'd better forget about introducing the "WGT Drinking Game"...

    HaHaaaaaaaaaa!  ;)

Technically neither.  I'm a WGT Contractor and I get to enjoy the luxury of working from home. =)

Pardon the Van Halen reference, but it was just too easy, cause you got 'The best of both worlds' !!

Looking forward to the extra time and objectivity that can be dedicated towards these threads - best of luck!
