I am so use to fast and very fast greens now that putting slow is the hardest for me.

I cant seem to make anything.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I cant even get past the holes that they choose for me. I have a feeling this is a giant scam to get us to buy into the pro shop. So far the information and access is not complimentary to me nor conducive to simplicity. I think I have invested enough time in this already.

FF, the slow greens are harder for me to get the speed right but it just takes practice, practice and more practice. Hang in there time and dedication is what this game is all about, much like in the real world greens. Happy Hittin TomBB, Kind of hard to get a good read of a game after just one try ? Give it a chance and it will grow on you. You do not have to buy anything to progress and have fun. Try it for a month or so and see if it grows on you bud. Good Luck and remember HAVE FUN.

I have been playing the game for a long time and my score rating (Master 67.56) is lower than yours.

Was just expressing a frustration more than an I need help post.

fancy, hit it harder and keep your head down ;)... But really, 2 things you might need to consider.

First obviously hit it harder, seems like a no brainer I know, but the standard/slow putt is much slower than the very fast putt is faster, lol, make any sense.

Second, the way you look at breaks is a bit different than fast/vfast putting. The first part of the putt won't break as much, simply because it is going faster.

And of course, practice. 10', 20' and 30' and see what you come up with.

like ncviz wrote, more speed and less break.  I can tell this much, I need much, much more practice on anything slower than fast speed, but I have done better playing many putts almost straight when the break is only moving slightly.  I also try to ram more putts in, then letting them fall in.  Big deal if I have 4ft left if a miss.  Less break more speed, exactly what ncviz wrote, the ball is gonna come of the club fast which negates the break the ball will experience in the first 20-30% of the putt.

When fast greens came out last year I went and calibrated the Redwood putter to map the change. I use the avatar movement method religiously and was amazed to see how the numbers changed. The fast green values on my Redwood changed exactly 33% across the board. The slow green values I was using for the 5 Redwood scales were 6 6 9 12 15. The fast green speed numbers became 8  8  12  15  20. I only noticed this after I was through figuring the change and the value relationships jumped out. I use the same putter and values today.

Standard and Very Fast greens supposedly showed up in later updates but I'm not totally convinced there's a big difference between Fast and Very Fast-maybe a foot or two. Using the fast values works for me. Standard, however, seems to work in between the Fast and Slow where the values are concerned-not quite slow or fast. Tibetts or ALee pointed out a quirk in the Standard greens at first where the speed change on the higher putter scales didn't match the change on the lower ones. I'm not sure where that went.

@ ff-try increasing your putting strength by a third on slow greens. This should get you a decent starting point in figuring putt strength. GL

I always add 2 to 3 ft on slow.....if it was a 10 footer on an uphill of 2 inches ...I'd hit it 14

    slow greens = ( distance + 20% ) + 2 + or - elevation

    eg. 20 yrd putt 5 in. uphill= 20 + 20% = 24 + 2 = 26 + 5 = 31

          Hit putt 31 yds

          20 yrd putt 5in. downhill= 20 + 20% = 24 + 2 = 26 - 5 = 21

          Hit putt 21 yds.
