Come on folks I am in serious need of some help here. My short game sucks as I cannot seem to calculate properly the distance that is lost from a shot when putting spin from the bottom of the ball. I am using Ping V2 and Calloway so should be ok. Would somebody help by suggesting what distance is lost ( i.e when it would pitch) say over a 100y from the fairway. Thanks Gordon

The data may not be available or reliable to answer your question, for your particular combination of club and ball. The fairway data would be easy to generate: get thee to a nice reasonably level stretch of fairway, 1st tee shot  enough club to just carry  into the fairway - say BPB back, # 10 or #11. Hit a pitch full power with the club of interest, five times in same direction, varying only spin: no spin, 1/2 backspin, full back, 1/2 top spin, and full top. For each setting record your full distance and carry. Repeat for other clubs of interest.

Make up a little table for your notebook (serious players here keep one). Even just on a Post-it or whatever to keep handy.

Repeat a few of the settings when you upgrade clubs or ball.

If you want to get serious about your short game you need decent wedges. One isn't enough and that starter wedge will drive you crazy. Pitching from 100+ out isn't the best shot either. IMO, you would do well to add a third wedge and since you like the Ping you have, get 2 more. Then you can really start dropping the score after you do just what Bob suggested. GL

The L60 Ping 54 105yrd Wedge is pretty good, if you can wait a little longer.
