The end of tomorrow will make exactly 1 month since I started playing this game. As of this moment, my average is 65.7 and I've been at master tier for 3 days. My level is 61. I'm fortunate of 2 things. I can play daily, alot and I'm able to purchase credits for equipment.
I've spent a bit of money for equipment in order to try and compete and enhance my enjoyment of the game. The master tees have certainly changed that. The distance I'm having to hit off the tee with a level 58 G20 while others are at pro tees hitting level 88 R11s is nuts.
WGT has a problem with its golf game that we just don't find in our real game of golf, even for us weekend hackers. That's because there's an honor system in that real game. All levels of golfers adhere to that system with the obvious exception here and there. The problem with WGT golf is 1) there's no required honor system and 2) those that don't adhere to any system are not the exception, they're the rule.
I've seen many suggestions throughout the forums regarding how to address this adequately but at the end of the day, its going to take a number of additions to the scoring/leveling system to fix this issue. Taking into account earnings, clubs, alt games, etc... will all have to be used to sufficiently level the playing field. Penalizing those that quit games is a must as well.
There will always be those in the game that are just "weekend hackers" and could care less about the equipment a lvl 90 hack or amateur has and what tees they're able to drive par 5s from. Maybe wgt thinks they make enough off of those (using free equipment) to survive.
I can say this without question. If changes aren't made my spending will cease completely. After reaching this master tier, I've seen the disadvantages compared to those cheating the system and a seeming uncaring from those that control and offer this game.
The most glaring example of greed can be found with the balls. The comparative cost of balls to clubs in this game is absolutely mind-blowing. I like to compare the credit cost of clubs to dollars. A club costing 1100 credits is $1100 for simplicity's sake. I purchase the WGT balls (orange) for 74 credits. Using that simple method, that's $74 for a sleeve of balls.I have 7 left now and that's it
Without some semblance of changes very soon, my spending is over. I will continue to play with the clubs I possess and learn to hack with the free balls. I certainly won't be getting into any RGs or any other matches that require credits and thus make WGT money. With the current state of the game, that's a horrible investment.
