Did WGT write a prescription of Haldol for the R11 8 iron? It seems less psychotic now days.

Anyone else notice it's more manageable?

Not really. Still have way too many 'mud ball' moments with it.

I've always found the R11 8i does not play distance like the others; would be delighted if it was resolved.

What distances do you play the club for. Here's what I have it mapped out as. Assuming perfect conditions then adjust for wind elevation accordingly. It's been very consistent lately.

    Nike Level 71+ 20XI-X

    Full Top 162yds +/- 1 yrd

    No Spin 156 +/- 1 yrd

    Full BS 148 +/- 1 yrd

First hole of the Olympic CTTH 165 -8 yrds for elevation +6 for wind full top spin. Played it for 163 yrds. Full top.

No Spin on BP #10 FW

    replay.aspx?ID=37b37c94 685f 416e b10b a03100f9e156

Full BS on BP #10 FW

I don't break it down to a science like you; just make rough calculations and hit. I get into trouble presuming the rating for the club is true. It always plays longer than the others, except when you presume it will go long :)

I look at the 8i this way, a very versatile club.

I'm with Doc. Depending on wind, that club covers from 135 to165 with the (s) Callaway.
