I need an upgrade of driver and think it's got to be one of these 2 but which one and why?

I briefly tried out the G20 on the free rentals weekend and liked it but haven't auditioned the Rocketballz. Looks like the meter is slightly quicker with the G20 but the distance is slightly better too?

Go for the loft. The G20 is high vs medium for the RBZ and that is a huge difference. Think of BPB4 and 12 where you need the loft to carry the traps. It may not make a huge difference from the Master's tees but it will later when you move back.

The G20 (81) is, hands-down, a better driver than the RBZ (69). Higher loft with an easy meter and it performs almost as well as the R11 while being easier to hit.

Now, if they introduce a level 83+ RBZ driver in the future, that might be the way to go, but for now, the R11 is still the best with the G20 a close second.

I can't speak to the L83 G20 driver, but compared to the lesser G20, the Rocketballz driver was surprisingly good.

I agree with YJ about the trajectory of a full set being an important factor, but I think it's less important with drivers.

I fount the RBZ driver to be much longer (10 yds +) than the lower level G20 without sacrificing any playability i.e. you can maximize the drive by appropriate use of backspin, etc.

Comparatively, I would put the RBZ driver on a par with the R9 Super-tri, with a much easier to ding meter speed.

I expect the upper level G20 to be 5-10 yds longer than the RBZ, but that's just conjecture.

The downside to the RBZ driver would be diminished accuracy. If you're trying to drive the green on SA 9 or 10, or the 300 yard par 3 at Oakmont, you might wish for that extra dot of precision, but on the whole, the RBZ driver is a bargain for lower level players who want a big stick.

I'm sure the RBZ irons are probably crappy, and this review of the driver shouldn't be extended to include the rest of the set, but for a long hitting driver, the RBZ is a good value.

I recently switched from the lower level G20 to the Rocketbalz driver. On the American courses it's about a wash. In the winds of St A and St G it's much better. Headwind totally killed the G20(240-250y) where the lower tragectory of the Rocketbalz gets me greater distance(250-265y).  I got lucky yesterday with a 278 yard drive into 21 mph wind on St G. Hitting to the proper landing area for roll helped as well.

I played a friendly matchplay game last night with a buddy of mine,   he was using the R11 driver and I was using the G20.....

We both were using the Legend Cally Z ball, and I was 2nd to hit on almost every hole after the drive (par 3's excluded).

Part of it could have been due to line of aim but still.   It wasn't by much but good enough for me and since I hit more FW's with the G20,  I like it a smidge more than the R11.

    Hope it helps
