    Jerm65:
Presumably the sitting lounge commands a premium view of the 18th green and stocks a selection of the finest single malts? (among other suitable libations, of course.....)

It does indeed, and here is a picture of some of our distinguished members relaxing after a hard Albatross Practice Session.

In the foreground you might notice an old copy of our Club's Bible "It's easy to score a Double Eagle...if you know how to do it"

Richard, I hate to burst your bubble but your recent accomplishment will not qualify you for admittance to this select club.  The double eagle, or "Albatross" as it is called requires a score of 3 under par on a hole, not 2 eagles in a round.  Keep working on it though, with skill and a ton of luck you may achieve the the most rare of all golfing feats.

Thankyou very much! it is a real proud for me to be the first one, but is not a ranked one....i hope for   Jack's decision! and maybe now  i may have the possibility to make a tutorial round with Sir BolloxInBruges!!!!

PS:Bollox, take it like a "formal request"!!

What we have here is  the 1st ever albatross on Oakmont 4th, and only the 2nd on Oakmont CC.

Furthermore, the author is Bidi from Italy, our distinguished member # 41 , who already scored an ace/albatross on St.Andrew's 9th the 22nd of October 2010

However, this time it was unfortunately made from the Master tees, and he is a Legend, so I'm afraid the club rules prevent me from recording the shot as an official Double Eagle. Infact it is not  in Bidi's stats.

But I will consult our Board of Directors, Lobwedgex60 ad BolloxinBruges, and, if they are of a different opinion, I will comply. I trust they'll post their opinion on this thread.

In any case, since the Albatross was made in a competition round and it is recorded on a published score on the WGA Championship thread, I will issue a Honorable Mention on the Official Board, like I did in similar occasions.

Congratulations again Bidi, I have no doubt you'll make it sooner or later.

    Keep trying
