    TBE, c'mon.

You have one posted round that I could find for the qualifier.  A 58.

My guess is maybe you (as did I) did 10 restarts to post that score?

Maybe the top 20 did the same?

you do know the courses get beta tested right? so who're the lucky ones? is it such a faux pas to ask such questions?

i'm just being curious MB that's all.

having said that......most likely the top 20 did do the same....i.e 10+ restarts etc.

    it's no big deal really.

good luck to everyone trying to qualify...and all the best of luck in the finals too.

I can tell you I was not involved in the beta testing of the course.  I did 3 holes, hole by hole and that was the only practice I took prior to its official release.  This course is tough, and I find it fun.  There are lots of challenges, and you need to make some minor adjustments due to the layout of the course, and it does make you think.  You need to play this course lots (which I plan to do) to understand how wind impacts this course, and boy, does it ever.

No, YOU are the one who missed the point entirely. You do not need to be good at scrambling to shoot a 53. You need 100% GIR for a start, which means you don't have to scramble at all. You can have 0% scrambling stats, but if you make 100% GIR or have a putting average on or close to 1.-- you will still shoot low.

The equipment we have now allows the top players to play aggressively.  Nothing wrong in playing agressively, we all do.  But at one time, playing BPB 15th hole, one had to use savy, to get the ball on the green in three.  Sometimes, you would hole out for a birdie, but generally you were putting to save par if you got your 3rd shot close enough, and hopefully below the hole.

Another example would be the 5th hole on BPB, where your approach would be the sand trap on the left and another shot to get close and putt for par.

Just, my opinion, but the newer players, can level up quickly and buy good equipment to overcome the obstacles faster now, than in the past.

Just compare Bollox's Sandsave and scrambling stats to a new player with the same equipment.

To be honest.....giving top players the chance to beta test or not would never really make any difference whatsoever in an unlimited qualifier as we all know. They will always come out and hammer in a great score on the first day anyway....I was just being my curious self.

I consider you to be one of the best in this game mate. I'll go further than that and say from my early days on here as a tour pro...it was you and priestess I noticed first as being the best players here on wgt....I'd never really heard of Bolly back then ONLY cause I was new to the game. By the way Sam's recent sustainance to victory in the Winter Tour has proven his capability in this game is truly magnificent and makes him a true champion of WGT. The virtual Jack Nicklaus or Arnie Palmer.

For all aspiring to be great at this game...check out Bolly's youtube channel as well as the other top players who have channels including Priestess's......learn to play how they play and you will do no wrong.

Fabien (Genorb) through all his persistence and practise has now shown him to be up top with the best in the game along with Dansamcam and imho Simovoice.

There are a host of other very good players in that bunch too....many of whom I'm yet to play.

When I hear people talk about these top players cheating or using autodings etc it makes me laugh. My advice to them would be to invite a few of the best into a match or alt shot and they will clearly see why great players are great.

Olympic's a difficult course for now....only because it's a new course. Practise it....learn the greens, adjustments for the winds and scrambling / sand saves etc.. Make more 1 putts and you'll be good.

On a final note...it's great to see Infinito has once again found his mojo for the game in general.

I  see where you're coming from.

Maybe I'm naive, I always assumed Beta testing anything would be done by WGT employees, like Icon, etc.

I never thought WGT would allow members to Beta test equipment, courses and such.

Who better to get to test a new course for bugs etc than a selection of players (who are sworn to secrecy)....I don't know how they're chosen but it does exist.

I would just like yo put my name forward for next year's list :)

Regardless of that.....the better players will always shoot low whether they get to test it or like the rest of us, just have to wait till the proper Qualifier's released....with it's varying green speeds throughout the course....cause it's the differing quirky speeds on many holes that are the problem...not really the course itself.

It's a fantastic course and the best so far from WGT.

Can people stop accusing the good players of cheating just because they score well and you cant.  You must be totally naive to think just because you havn't  got the hang of the game that others have not either.  Good players would beat people using these so called cheating devices (although i'm yet to see or hear of one) and even if they were available, the best players wouldn't dare use them as they probably would be more of a hindrance than a help anyway.

As for the Olympic Club qualifier, personally i think WGT have decreased forgiveness to ZERO, so missing ding by a fraction will be more pot luck than it usually is, and it also adds to no 2 shots being the same.  Come on it is the Open, so conditions (deviation) will be tougher than usual.  Hit re-start enough times and eventually you will get that round where everything goes your way.

And poor Sam and the others are probably fed up of hitting their heads against a brick wall in convincing these people that they are honest players and ARE JUST GOOD, SIMPLE, GOOD PLAYERS, thats all, is it that hard to comprehend?  When i first joined 2 years ago, i saw bolloxinbruges at top of leaderboard and thought how the heck does he score so low, only because i was learning the game and found everything from putting to approaches tough and struggles to qualify. 2 years on and i've learnt the game a bit more and qualify for most tournaments.  You either need to practice and get better, or if you cant improve, admit to yourself that you just arn't that good at virtual golf and therefore play for fun with friends.

Not sure about the Beta Testing of the course,  I'm sure 100's/1000's of people were playing it before it was released.

.... if you clicked the link that somebody posted in the Forum then the full course was open for Play.
