rented the L37 burners.  my first impression is they suck monkey sack.  ding it and sh1t comes up short... barely miss the ding and junk goes way the fawk off line... miss the ding by half centimeter and it goes same as missing by a hair... terrible precision, terrible forgiveness... still could not stop anything with long irons on BPB 9 and similar.

    not impressed.

Your in a tough place being a very low xp points level legend.

IMO you really need the l79 burner irons to compete well from the legend tees. I upgraded from the old g10s (which are better than your current clubs) and wow there was a huge difference. Shaved of strokes almost instantly.

Was is the difference between the old G10s and the L35 G10's?

Been messing around with the L35 G10's.  I like them much better than the L30 something Burners.  Played several rounds of BPB back nine with the G10's... shooting 34-36 with them.

Then played a round with my TP's... 32.

These TP are great clubs except the trajectory. The PW-6i stop like darts... the PW-8i stop much better than the G10's.  And they are very forgiving.

I think as long as I keep the high trajectory R11 3w and hybrid in my bag... I'll be ok.  I'll have to deal with only 2 wedges for awhile... depending on the course.

I probably won't mess with the K15's.  No sense getting used to a slow meter.

Spaghetti, you are at a pretty low level for a Legend, but at that point the levels will fly by (with the daily playing bonus), so I would say to stay with what you have at least until Level 59, or even 79 or 83 - if, as you say, you aren't expecting to match the top players at the moment. And you've got a few new courses to learn anyway. You will be less competitive for a while, maybe just a few weeks, but then you will have some good clubs you can play for a long time.

Yeah this is pretty much the conclusion I'm coming to.  Having come back from a long hiatus, and realizing just how much trajectory plays a role, I wanted to explore the idea of changing clubs to get better trajectory.  But I think, ATEOTD, it's really not an improvement... med/high traj just isn't enough of a difference to make up for the trade offs of making a change.

I was just in the Master tier (highest level) before they implemented XP's and "Levels".  Before I came back on 5/05/12, I think my last tourney played or ranked round played was 10/2009!!

I was totally dormant, not active at all when they went to the new system, and they just decided to put me in the Legend tier when they went to the new system.

Why not Tour Master??  Hell, why not just leave me at Master?  if I some point I come back, then my average under the new system will determine my tier.

It does seem kinda unfair.  I should at least have a chance to compete in the tier I'm in.  And everyone knows you just can't compete without the high legend level clubs.

So good to see your face again, Spag. I use high loft clubs and use a punch shot for medium to low ball result, hand in glove with the trio of choices: top spin, no spin or back spin. With all of the balls now available, it becomes more complicated.

Welcome back kid. Rather than buying lower level irons or renting anything else, invest that $$ in levelup bars and go straight to the lvl59g20s.  These irons are your best bet for competing as legend until you get to lvl78 2.0 burners

Thanks RWM.  I agree.  Best bet is the L59g20's.  The lower irons suck.  I'd rather have my L63 TP's with med traj than the lower irons.

Can the L59g20's do this?  <~~~~~~~~ replay fyi.

Was kinda being tongue in cheek with my question... :-)  However, I do want to know if once I get a high lofted 3 iron (210 yards) from the L59 G20's... I can drop my high lofted hybrid (210 yards).  I'd rather have 3 wedges but my current TP 3 iron has no chance of sticking on an elevated green unless a bird flies by and coats it with liquid nail.  So I have to keep the hybrid in the bag.
