yeah i know this has been thrown around alot, but now it starts happening to me ..

i've read alot of the legends' posts where they take issue with odd deviations during stroke play over 18 holes. The odd wtf moment when the ball disregards the natural physics of wind, elevation and/or backspin allowance ..

    just played CC 18 ..

hole 9 par 4: 250 yrd from pin, 11 mph direct cross wind right to left .. so i aim to right of pin, allowing enough for drift, little bspin on 3W to put some brakes on the shot figuring i let it roll in towards the hole .. almost dinged it .. ball goes straight, as in straight .. no drift ??? into the drink ... dunno what pisses me off more .. the fact that i lost a 450cr ball, or that ball didn't do what it supposed to .. Bogey hole 9

    now i'm litte perturbed .. bogey holes 10 & 11 .. back to -1 for round after 11 holes

make few birdies, back to -4 on 17

hole 18 par 4: love this hole cause its an interesting approach in towards green .. get it wrong, hello water .. 12mph 60 degree cross wind .. i figure about 8mph left to right & 4mph front .. so i adjust for drift, place my marker on left fringe which i know is the correct amount for drift away from the fringe towards the hole .. i ding the shot & i think i'm gonna be on top of the hole .. the shot starts off straight towards the hole, not left where i aimed, but straight towards the hole .. end up 22 yrds to right of hole with fast down hill put .. felt somewhat vindicated when i sunk it .. shot a 66 overall, but it could have been 63

now all i'm sayin' is this: how the heck am i supposed to shoot 63's or 62's towards TM if this kinda thing happens to guy like me who is not nearly as good as the legend players .. how do you guys do it ? i thought i'd deal with those wtf issues if i'm able to reach Legend Tier .. but now it seems to be creeping in allready .. is that normal at Master Tier ??

Any advice from the TM's & Legends out there ? I try to soak in as much as i can from the better playes & i've learned alot from them, but dunno quite what to make of this ..

i've saved & quited after 9 and restarted also like some Legends suggest, but still ..

Any insights from you TM's & Legends out there ?

you mirror my views perfectly, since moving to tm ive gone backwards.a few 29s thru in the mix but im struggling to better 32 33 on any 9. i guess practise and patience is the key.hope your game comes together have faith in your own ability.

    regards scotty.

On several occasions I've been well set and have totally screwed up the final hole (9 or 18) for bogey or worse.

Usually I assume it's just me though. :p

As a Legend from inception, I can only say....get used to it, finish and move on. One shot, one hole, one game, will not make your wgt life. Suck it up and play...and have fun.

I probably felt it as bad if not worse than most TM's. It took me forever to make Legend. Look at my score history the last month prior to making Legend. All of those 32 and 33's were 5-6 under with 2 or 3 to go. Seemed as soon as I got 5-6 under the game had a mind of it's own. One night out of the blue, I shoot  my best round  (a 28) and there I was. I am totally convinced that when you get at 61.8 the game really turns the screws. Guess that is WGT saying, you better be ready for this. I have found the new tees as Legend way easier than I expected. I have had no problem with GIR's. It is still my putting that kills me. I am here now just for the fun, I will never, ever be in the top 20%, let alone one of the elite.

I'm at level 89, and not looking forward to 90. My putting has gone to hell since level 86. I'm missing most putts 2ft-+ (interesting thing, I'm nailing birdie and eagle putts 75% of the time at range of 20ft+). On slight L-R slope short putts I'm hitting opposite side of ding line to compensate for the slope, helps some but mostly end up inches from hole. I have a Nike Method, Ghost and Ping Anser (I was looking for a faster meter, helps some ) but my putting is just terrible, I'm very sick of 2" final putts and don't see it changing, I can't figure how to improve the short putts when the final putt is inches from the hole. If it takes that much more precision, I don't think things are going to get better.

    . almost dinged it

"Almost" introduces your basic "anything goes" scenario. Deviation has license to steal when you miss that ding. Worse yet, a ding doesn't always guarantee success. LOL. Figure that one out.

As you improve, the game gets tougher. How it's done by WGT is a big secret with a lot of theories but they do get it done. What makes you good is recovering from bad results and moving on.

I saw a post earlier from a guy that shot a 56 in the qualifier and he hit the tree off the tee on #5 that round!!

My question is what makes your clubs not perform consistent? You figure the wind the same way you always do. You use the same calibration for your clubs. So what the heck gives, one time your shooting 2-3 yards from the hole , next thing you know 6-8 yards from the hole, I'm not talking one, hole, I'm talking so many the you have to withdraw from the game.

thanks for the input lady & gents .. looks like i'm just gonna have to knuckle down & slug it out ..

i notice alot of the top tier players carry 3 lofted wedges .. obviously to close distance between clubs on short approaches to enable full or near full swings .. would you guys recommend this in general ? or should i wait a bit untill say L83 so i can get a 3 iron that will eliminate my need for hybrid wood .. currently i deliberately set myself up for +- 100 yd approach shots so i can use PW, but i have a bit of gap between my 58deg wedge & PW

Yes, yes and yes! Try punching your 3W in places where you normally would use that HB. Then you see you don't really need the HB.  ;-)
