YJ - that doesn't really work when you have to carry the shot.  Although - if you have a "quality" 3-wood then you can use full backspin and hit at around 85-90% to cover the hybrid distance.

If you're punching a 3W or hitting a full HB chances are you're in deep tapioca because of a bad tee. I prefer not to try and make some heroic recovery shot and just get to an up and down lie.  ;-)

@Chris. My stats are painfully average, maybe a little above-nothing to write home about. They do include every single shot in a ranked round for 3 years and it took 2 years to get a clue. LOL

Don't sell yourself short, and don't sandbag us in the forums YJ  :)....16.82 putts per round is right up there with Bollux  n the rest of the best..

On another note, our Bronx bombers have looked less than average so far this year...

Meh-After the All Star break, just like always. And then there's this 8 inning 4 hit shoutout.  :-)

i notice alot of the top tier players carry 3 lofted wedges .. obviously to close distance between clubs on short approaches to enable full or near full swings .. would you guys recommend this in general ?

Yes, yes and yes! Try punching your 3W in places where you normally would use that HB. Then you see you don't really need the HB.  ;-)

I thought the 3W would not work well in deep rough even with a punch?

Au contrare, mon petite.  Try it, you'll like it. Just make sure you aim where it has room to land and roll-the carry isn't great but that roll will make up for it. :-)

This was a great tip as my 3W punched goes as far as my 3H did :p

Not only that, how many times did you use your HB versus how many times you now use that 3rd wedge?  ;-)
