    LMFAO!!

I thought Rich was joking and winding you guys up a bit....but I think he's actually serious!

I'm curious if he sees a difference between using meter tape, or knowing that the left edge of the Excel icon at the bottom of the screen is 85% meter power?  Or the right edge of the Outlook icon is 92.5%? Or that the little spot of coffee I haven't cleaned off the screen for 2 months is about 63%?  I mean, it's a point of reference, right?

But please Rich...keep on posting.  I can always use a good laugh.  Helps pass the time at work.

    Richard4168:

Meter tape gives a player an advantage to score better then the players who don't use meter tape. You can't deny that. Judging by the nerve I struck in you, it seems you indeed use meter tape and don't want to see WGT do anything to change it.

I was sure you would go that way and miss completely the point of my message. You are searching personal fight instead of posting constructive thoughts.

For your information, I would be quite embarrassed to use putter/iron pal. When WGT gifted a putter pal to every player that would login on a given day, the first thing I did was to get rid of it (and it was a 100 hits putter pal, quite boring to get rid of it).

The question is not if I am using or not a meter tape (if you think a bit that's not really needed, see below). That question has no point since that's not forbidden, like using avatar movements (which is a virtual meter tape since it gives you reference points). Just in case, I am wearing glasses when I play, am I allowed?

The point is that I am sickened to read all these ridiculous posts about those who are posting low scores. According to those posts, good players are either cheaters or they use unfair tricks to post those scores... That's so much lack of respect and education!

    Richard4168:

If players would not use a point of reference on the meter bar (like the game was intended), scores and averages would definitely increase a bit. There's no skill put into something if people find ways to make it easier. I view this as someone just gaming the system to gain an unfair advantage.

If you think a little, on a iron shot approach you chunk at most around 95% (going lower means going one club down), you don't need a meter tape to know where is more or less 95% on your meter, and when you know where is 95%, you know where is 97.5% which is accurate enough if you know how to putt.

Now you can answer to this post if you like to have the last word, that's my last post in this thread.

    Regards

I'm not trying to be satirical jerm. I only made mention of the use of meter tape and how WGT could use the meter to increase the games difficulty. In all actuality, I'm the one having a great laugh this morning. LOL!!

No fight at all Genorb. I am merely giving my opinion on meter tape and you and others are the ones giving the fight it seems.

There's no need to patronize me Genorb. I know your better then that.

I never one time accused any player of cheating. If some players need meter tape to post low scores, then by all means, more power to them.

It doesn't need to be this way Genorb. I'm more then willing to have a constructive discussion about low scores. You don't need to defend the fact you post low scores to me or anyone else.

My post initially started with my opinion on how WGT could use the meter to make this game more difficult. The attacks came from everyone else. Read my posts again, I attacked no one. I did however answer the unfair charges brought against me.

Just so everyone knows, gaining an unfair advantage and using a program to cheat are two different things altogether.

Meter tape is not against the rules. A cheat program is against the rules.

I just wanted to make my position clear.

Since some of the better players don't use meter tape, then WGT needs to discontinue the use of avatar movements if it is causing players to post unrealistic low scores, IMO.

    cheat/CHēt/

    Verb:
Act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, esp. in a game or examination: "she cheats at cards".

I'm glad you cleared that up.

I'd be willing to bet 99% of the players here use something for reference points. That must drive you batty, Richard4168.

Is there a point to insisting you and anybody else that doesn't use a reference point are the only ones playing as WGT apparently intended? One might think that those scores are the only true scores here, by your logic.  Just curious.
