I loved the R11 3 wood, but found if i missed the ding, i was severely punished. I then bought the G20 3 wood, and i have to say i love it more than the R11. Meter seems easier to hit, and the distance is just the same. Missing the ding with G20 doesnt punish me as much too, so im well happy with it. That is, until WGT read this post, and re-jig my settings, lol.

Not sure about the G20....   The R11 is Great!

I think the meter with the R11 is pretty good. It's slower than the Irons.

Distance can be over 300yrds with a good tailwind.

+1 in all bold words :) look my bag.

R11 wood is a Ding only club. even a single pixel miss can send you ball 20+ yards off line, and 20+ yards short. You can't miss to compensate for wind, that is the formula for disaster.

    cheers.

I wouldn't normally get involved with people from a higher level, asking for advice.

If I could say though...... I only use the G20 driver and 3 wood because I couldn't keep the R11's on the fairway, which I believe are longer hitting clubs than the G20's.

You must know by now mate....... it's all preference and what suits YOU better in this game.

...so why don't you put some sense in a comment about how you feel or think about the 3 wood instead of judging my comment. It make sense for me since I'm playing better with the g20.

What I wrote was my review of how I experimented the club, The OP asked for that.

I'm an ageing player who hardly ever dings due to poor reflexes,  athritus and various medical problems. I've used the R11 since it came out and although a missed ding causes slightly more deviation than most clubs I still manage pretty good scores in this game. To say it's a ding only club just isn't true.
