Very low wind and forward tees = Birdies out there :)

Very low wind!!!!!! On the 5 holes i DID play i didn't get wind less than 19 mph, but by then my -3 had gone to -1 due to me teeing off 5 how i would normally not realising it was blue tees and landing so far in rough i had to ask caddy for a scythe just to get to the ball, and then i went and used it on his head for not telling me #3 was 203 yards not 243 (and after taking a peek at leaderboard even if i had blasted the back 9 to pieces there was no way of beating top 3.)  but made to feel better as there was a host of "top" names in same boat.

Could it be that those who posted a good first round score got tough wind, and those who didn't post a good first round got lower wind to bring them back into the game??

Round 2 Legend tier had heavy wind but the1 up tees. I don't know what the other tiers had to play in their rounds. I think WGT always has different conditions per tier.

I noticed some notable WD's on the Legend leaderboard after the second round. I was really hoping these folks would play it out so I could compare my scoring to theirs. Oh well it's their game anyway so they play it how they want.

Gota be truthful i was kinda happy they withdrew :)

As a Master, the wind didn't seem too heavy. Tees were 1(?) forward and the greens required skates - Legend speed!

Very variable set-up in these tournaments!

Darn..think I missed this tournament. How do you find these wgt nation tournaments? If still being played, how do I sign-up.

There have been two and they are both over. Hopefully WGT will e-mail us with future tournys, or that's the plan anyway.

TY for response, know I played in one, must have missed the 2nd one. Don't recall an email for the 2nd one. Will have to pay attention.

Maybe in this forum a warning bolo for email when next wgt nation tournament occurs.

For those WGT Nation members who missed those:

    - Write WGT to be included into the mailings

    - Look out here - it's safe that someone (piz or me or ...) will spoil his chances by inviting the community :)

Nope; had a cr*p wind set R1 and played well and then had a good wind set R2 and missed too many makeable putts....sometimes it is your own fault when you don't shoot the lights out every round.

Sometimes it is - but I had probably the worst possible wind set for the 2nd round.  Direct head winds at 19-20 on EVERY long hole on the course and perpendicular winds to EVERY dog leg hole on the course.  I had to tee off with a 4-iron on one long dog-leg par 4 because with the trees and wind there was no other way to keep the ball in play.  Thought about withdrawing as I was getting so frustrated with it.  Made a few putts though and finished with a 2nd round 62 so it wasn't all bad.

Personally I love the course - but high winds from the tips will likely make this the hardest course available as of now.
