Why is it that only players from certain countries (US, Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, and South Korea) can get prizes in for example monthly CTTH? I mean some of them are really weird, like why should Norwegian players but not players from Sweden be able to enter tournaments where you can get credits?

I could see why you limited it to US like you do to everything else, free balls etc. And maybe I get why you pick Canada and maybe maybe UK. But the rest? Where did they come from? What makes them more special than Sweden?

Isnt my credits worth as much when I enter tournaments like players from these countries or what?

Hi Sweatie, I think it comes down to the laws in that country/ state. In the US  there is quite a few states that their laws say no to online gaming for money.

It has nothing to do with WGT.  Send you member of parliment an email asking why they do not allow it.

      Cheers,

          LJ

I am sure these 7-8 countries is not the only ones to have laws against online gaming for money. We can play on online casinos here but we cant play golf for money? Sounds weird to me...

And besides, I can still play match play, skins and blitz challenges for money so why not this?

    Must be WGTs decision.

I lived in Denmark for many years & I know that there are authorized:

    - Casinos (not as fancy as Las Vegas, but still where you buy your chips & play roulette, etc)

    - Gaming Shops

    - Poker, Black - Jack, etc online

    - International Lotery

    - etc, etc.

I lived in England and saw exactly the same Casinos, gaming shops, etc, etc, I have no idea why WGT considers Denmark as a non-eligible country to play & win prizes.

I looks to me that WGT made this important gaming decisions when WGT was founded but they have certainly not updated any of those gaming rules.

edit: the funny thing is that I DID received my Royal St. George hat (from the virtual English open) delivered right at my door.....IN DENMARK!

err, no Hooters Bars like in the US..... perhaps that is why.

Standard Gaming laws, i.e. Casino's are allowed in many places. This is considered Skilled Gaming, and is prohibited in many places due to the ability to rig games, etc. This is fact, check you local Gaming Laws, there's where your answers will be. I'm sure if you can't gamble in games on here that is why. As far as the CTTH(lottery prizes) I don't know.

Something else to keep in mind. Many countries and cities and such prohibit casino's unless specifically approved by law in case by case basis. Generally, those are given specific zones and no other casino will be within that zone.

The casino's, in their part not only pay taxes but likely do other things for the city/state. So, using that as an example is not correct.

So what you are saying is that blitz challenges is lottery? That its only luck?

Whats the difference in putting money into a blitz/match play challenge than to put it into a strokeplay tournament? I dont see the difference to be honest...

I live in the USA  and am not allowed to enter certain tournaments because of the state i'm in,So its not because of WGT its because of laws of your country and state.I can see no reason why WGT would do otherwise if the laws were the same.
