  I agree, although at one time I subscribed to that theory, I don't anymore.

  There once was a RG thread that had suggestions of "same wind set RG's" in it, Icon was going to follow up, but I think it fell by the wayside.

  But heck, I break 60 so rarely, I'm just happy to be in it.

  I think that when there's a $5K+ prize at stake, then all players should get an equally fair chance. Random winds from one player to the next obliterates any fairness.

  WGT responce for that matter was that a player can share the info to another one, so he/she will be able to set up clubs for specific winds... bla bla... for me that is more fair than an complete random setup.

  Same wind set up doesn't mean Exact same wind, it can vary, for example, a tail wind can be at 11:00; 12:00; 1:00 and it can go also, 13mph, 14mph, 15mph, 16mph. that can be random, is more like real life wind reacts.

  Think I tend to agree with 'jvr86'  on the wind discussion. Teeing off at different times in real life may well mean different conditions.

  For sure

  But if I tee off at 8am in Ca. and TBE tees off at 8am in the UK...we should both have morning winds even tho it may be 8? hours difference.

  lol...

  i tried the open....the wind was fine but the meter was all over the place on all drives all approaches and just about every putt. it's really hard to get within 4 yrds of a pin when the meter's jumping around like a wh*re in church.

  yet.....when i play a cc tourney or weekly tourney after the open fiasco...the meter's spot on.

  no point moaning...i just accept it and move on.....no point wasting balls....there'll be other times.

  good luck to all who are still in it but it was 4.30 am over here and i ran out of patience.
