I'm rooting for the player that will come last. That person will have played out their commitment knowing they're not going to win yet they tried to the end without shame.

So ironic you say this, 2 years after I finished dead last in both rounds of the Open at Oakmont-back to back 78s. The tournament was over for me by the 6th hole of the first round. My goal became to get off the last page of the standings by the end but failed miserably and was the last one off the course, sometime after midnight. Nobody was around.  :-(

Many are in it to win it..

If they know they will be posting a bad round and they have no chance at winning they WD/etc...they do the same in RG's

They could care less about the score, but there is no "thrill" for them to continue.

I understand that to an extent but this is different. It's the V US Open and only once a year. They can quit their ready go's daily all year long. Protecting an average from something only "his name isYancy" could explain makes no sense to me at all but that's another issue.

Show some pride and finish what you out-qualified about a couple milltion people to enter. I still believe there's some folks who missed it by one stroke(58) who would take pride in the fact that they qualified and finish both rounds because they're in a very small circle of people who could do it..

I always respect the person who fulfills their obligation to their fellow competitors by finishing regardless of position. If everyone not in first place quit what the hell would that be? ;-)

Well, for 99.9 percent of the qualifiers, posting a 90 will not protect their average.

Most have 400 rounds in and average can only go down.

I do understand what you mean though, but where is the thrill in shooting a 70 for some of these folks?

I/e..in order for me to get ahead of Tinybo, I needed a 49? I think it was?  Ya right;)  But I played to post.

    Many of us will too:)

I WD on the 9th hole of the 1st round......not because I was playing bad. I WD because the meter was jumping about like a wh*re in church on every drive, every approach and every putt. In between holes I saved game to clean cache...unistall/reinstall flash but it still made no difference so I WD because the game was pretty much unplayable.

You can quit if you want to. Doesn't matter whether it's practice, Multiplayer, or the freaking U.S. Open.

Stop getting your panties in a wad over the actions of others, and care more about your own.
