Will there ever be a driving range?

    • Will WGT ever offer "Best Ball"?
    • Someone suggested level-up bars for legends who don't have access to the best equipment. Is this a possibility?
    • I would like to see a CC prize pool.
    • Please default uncheck "email me replies to this post" - Also, please figure out why WGT feels it's necessary to send every email twice.
    • If the game physics become harder (more skill based), will random deviations decrease?

... with target greens on the driving range @ various distances ... & where one can set up varying wind conditions too ? XP's not included

I believe their game would be much more fun if you had the chance to get to know your equipment. Played some rounds yesterday withe the GI-2S ball together with a friend and was very fun, but of course the behavior and distances compared to the Nike's is very different. Playing directly on a course will make it take much longer to familiarize yourself with the balls and clubs though and you end up not testing alternatives so much.

If there would be a driving rage, we would dare to experiment more. We would buy more stuff. WGT would earn money.

Not having a driving/putting range (with variable speed & wind chris mentions) is actually pretty stupid.

    Keep in mind everyone;

1.) A Driving Range you need golf balls. What kind of gb's are being supplied.

2.) Everyone uses different golf balls.

3.) Players use specific golf balls with different meter speeds / Feel / and Durubility , which all play a roll in how well you drive / hit the ball.

4.) The above excludes direction and aim and most importantly, "distance".

We can be guaranteed  WGT will not be supplying Nike and or Callaways for us to use at the "Range".

Why go to the range if the gb's you are going to drive / chip with will most likely have a different "meter speed" -(and distance - feel) compared to a gb that you use all the time and are use too using and playing / competeing with all the time?

    Just my observation. edge

Then there shud be a specific ball for the driving range with medium distance, spin etc

Copy of a post by Miokontic titled "More Natural Talent" that was deleted by WGT,

Yet another truly natural talent leading the Ready Go I've just played; pretty average scoring... until he plays his first Ready Go when all of a sudden and miraculously he starts hitting his best rounds ever.  Except for the weekly/monthly tournaments when again the scores are, well, rather worse than average!  A 67 in a WGT weekly/monthly tournament, but then a 58 in a RG.

We really do need a response from WGT as to whether they want to allow such talent.  If yes, then I see no reason why we shouldn't all start new accounts and follow the trend.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Something to ponder... it is against the T's & C's to name 'natural talent'.  But, if we all start naming these cheats, WGT will not ban everyone.  I mean, they do that and they no longer have a customer base except for the cheats.  And they won't get any real money from them!

I think MisterWGT needs to spend 15 minutes in his next Q&A session explaining WGT's policy on multi-accounters, sandbaggers and cheaters, and, if it really is not allowed, what they are doing about it.  Sticking a player's stats against their name in a game lobby is not doing something about the problem, it is passing the problem on and then ignoring it.

I have posted this a number of times, as to why there is no driving range (or putting green).  But I will again:

What balls will you use at the driving range?  I'd imagine the range will only provide starter balls for free.  Will you use up Nikes or Callaways (believe me, the range will use ball durability)?  Take the chance on hitting your ball OB at the range and losing it?  Or pay for a bucket of balls?  I don't know about you, but I don't have enough disposable income to waste $1.50 golf balls whacking them at the range.  Now, I suppose the range could have a simulator where you could select the type of golf ball you can use.  But, I guarantee you WGT isn't going to let you whack their Nikes and Callaways around for free.  So I don't think we'll get a driving range because practically, the way it would have to be set up, few would use it.

Similar issue with a putting green.  WGT doesn't want ANYONE perfecting putting for free.  So if there were a putting green, either of two things would happen:  Either you would have to pay to use it (by time or number of strokes) OR ball durability will be taken when putting on it.  Now again, I am not going to pay to putt when I can practice it free on the course without using up my ball.  So again, novel idea.... people would try it, but it would fall into disuse.
