Hello folks. Yoda here once again reporting from the swamps of Degobah. There was a lot of action today out on the courses. Some great scores being posted and some not so great. The leaderboard is starting to fill out quite nicely. LuisCraveiro is still leading the pack by two shots. But with two full days left for the first two rounds, it's really anybody's guess as to who will take that number one spot. The cut-line will most definitely drop from it's current position and Kurtsbuford showed up at St. Andrews to play his second round baring all. These stories and more coming up.
Let's start things off tonight with the shot of the day. BigKnight went out and played his second round with MinkyWinkster at St. Andrews. And on the par 3, 11th hole the crowd was wowed by his spectacular shot. He had a 11mph wind blowing left to right. Calm conditions for St. Andrews. He swung his Rio Tinto sponsored WGT starter iron and the ball went up like a firecracker. Minky said it had a most beautiful vapor trail behind it. (It should be noted Minky was seen dropping acid before her round). Anyways the ball went up and to the left and then curled back into the green and came down just 2ft from the hole, took two bounces and found the bottom of the cup!!! A hole-in-one for BigKnight!!! The crowed went wild!!! BigKnight finished his round 4 under and I was able to catch up with him just minutes after sinking his first HIO on the Tour. Here's what he had to say, "Yeah man it just felt great coming off the club head". "I originally thought it was going to be too far left to even have a shot at staying on the green, but man......sometimes your lucky". "But in my case, it's greatness". "And you can't teach greatness". Well there you have it folks. A MODEST Mr. Knight! It should be noted that his playing partner Ms. Winkster finished her round with a 30. Talk about greatness!
Tour bad boy Kurtsbuford showed up at the Old course today. Nothing to special about his showing up except for the fact that he was wearing nothing, but sunglasses. This apparently stems from his night out with Tour bad girl Priestess where they both were reportedly heavily drinking and stripping for cash. Officials wanted to ask him to leave and return once he had the proper attire, but it seemed as if nobody could get up the courage to face him. (Can't say I blame them) Luckily for Mr. Kurt, the wind wasn't blowing too hard which made for a pretty warm day. Well a bare Kurt didn't seem to bother him as he played his best golf of the first two rounds posting a 29!! Hopefully he doesn't make a habit of this. The no clothes thing, not the golf.
Earlier in the day Fortesque99 and Stuffix made it to Olympic to play their first round. Stuffix knocked in a quiet 32 while Fortesque99 33. Why is this noteworthy? It's not. It's the comments that was made by Fortesque afterwards which caught my attention. Here's what he had to say, "If Yoda comes near me with a microphone, i swear... let's just say that he won't need to hold it anymore coz it'll be lodged so far down his throat that it'll be a permanent fixture, and his voice will be broadcast far and wide for eternity. lol... And you see folks.......that's awfully nice of him. He just want's to help. The microphone does get pretty heavy. Especially on those really hot days. He just want's me to have a hands free microphone and he want's me to be broadcasted to more listeners. But with a hands free microphone and a contract with a larger broadcasting company comes money. It costs lots of money to do those things. Maybe if he could play a little better and break the top 10 in money he could afford to do so. Try harder Mr. Fortesque99!!! LOL!!! And if you feel you want to settle this on the course, well.....let's not go there. LOL.
And finally Lisa03 finished up her first two rounds later in the day. Her playing partner was a great player and friend of mine. Yoda79. Lisa and Yoda got things started off with a pair of birdies on the first hole at Olympic. Then apparently, according to Yoda, a train appeared. They boarded and were stuck on it. The destination? Par town. That's right. They were on the Par train. Till the 5th hole that is. When they both bogeyed. Long story short, they both got their birdies back and ended up with 33's. Lisa had this to say about her irons "yep selling my starter clubs back to WGT for a dozen starter balls. Can't say I blame her. Lisa finished up the first two rounds at -5. Just may be enough to get her through to the 3rd round. And Yoda had this to say about his round and those irons, "We both were looking forward to having a good round, but those trashy Rio Tinto sponsored WGT starters clubs had other ideas. You miss the ding, and you lose like, 70yds!!! Grrr... Disappointment was written all over there faces. More on Yoda in the coming days.
Lot's of golf left to be played. This reporter is thinking the cut-line could go as low as -6 or even -7. It's just a bit too early to tell at this point. And we still have some big names to play. Last week's winner Bawbag1874 has yet to show up, and AllyKennedy the winner of two weeks ago in the sudden death match has played one of his rounds. He shot an impressive -7 at St. Andrews and is poised to at least tie for first place. Will he? Time will tell at some point. Tour organizer JimBean346 has yet to make an appearance and could make some noise of his own as he usually fairs well in these tournaments. Well playing with starter irons was his idea, so this reporter can't WAIT till he plays. Well's that's it for me, Master Yoda here on the WGF Tour. It's been an exciting first couple of days for the 4th week and things are starting to heat up. Join me next time for more stories and scores as they develop. Until next time my friends. Goodnight.......Planet Earth!!
