    CerinoDevoti:

The site went down when Spino and I were in the fairway on the 13 hole. I'm ready to explode in a fit of rage. I saved the card after 9 just in case but didn't save the stats.

Did I mention I'm ready to explode in a fit of rage?

And i was 4 under ....just kidding  !

what a pain in the #### Did you want us to start over, id suggest not as cerino was having a great round.may be restart from 10th as the front 9 card was saved.  unfortunately we would lose the f9 the stats though.

Hi i feel i should drop out and let a reserve in to play. Not able to play early morning when one eyed john is online.please give him a new challenger if one ready ,sorry bill

There's no note about reserve players...

I could play John and you might play woodoworkery if all agree. The time schedules fit.

I'd also play a second game as a marker for any1 - RSG is fun to play!

That's a great suggestion, alosso. I was looking at the grid and hoping some swapping might be possible.

It would be a great help if everyone could confirm whether or not the time guesses on the grid are accurate. Your idea of what 'Morning' or 'Night' is may not match mine, hence mismatched playing partners.

Let's go with that solution: alosso to play oneeyedjohn, billcliff to play woodoworkery.

Any objections from any of those concerned?

(unless I hear anything by tonight, I'll update the list. I too can be a marker for anyone having scheduling difficulties. I just want us to move forward and get our rounds in. Thanks everyone for your patience and good efforts to move things along)

How maddening!!! I tried to log on during the maintenance, and was praying no-one was mid-game...

I can't actually see your Front9 scorecard. There's only a space showing where I guess it was inserted (is it showing for anyone else?). So, what were your scores, both for the Front9 and for holes #10-12 if you can remember?

I'm happy leaving it up to you if you both want to play the Back9 only together (and happy too if you want to choose to ignore your scores on #10-12 2nd time around, and count just #13-18. I think getting to make that choice is small recompense for the frustration of a WGT site failure mid-round.)

There isn't really a good solution to the GIR and Av Distance problem... I'm sure we could accept whatever stats you get on the Back9 and call them good for the whole 18, but it's the harder 9, so that's not so fair on you both...

I do have screenshot verification of stats for Cerino from a practice round we played yesterday. I'd be happy to present those if no-one else objects.

Corwyn I took the front 9 scorecard screen shots. I haven't uploaded it yet to a server. Right now I think it would be best if I logged off WGT and did it tomorrow morning. I have no problem just playing the back 9 again with Spino. Shame really, we were having some good laughs.

P.S. I hope to see some other scores really soon. It's Thursday night and only a couple games have been completed.

I just informed Woodo and John - ready to play any of them after some hours of sleep.

I just played with Russ & we were quite smelly, although he was coming on at the last.  Also, I forgot to get screen shots of the stats page. Will I be punished?  And, it seems you will need a magnifying glass...sorry, it's been a long time. Anyway, my score was 77.

Round 1 for Macduff10 and ColumbusStorm

Included other stats too just for the fun of it

Forgot what screenshots were required so hopefully I got it covered with a starter driver shot, starter iron/uneven lie shot and starter putter/green shot.

Still seems from the fairway an uneven lie takes too much distance off of a shot. However I do realize I'm not that familiar with the play of the starter clubs and ball anymore, so can't really complain too much yet. At least 3 more rounds worth of experience for me to make a legitimate evaluation.

I like the uneven lie feature and the extra thought required for risk/reward before playing a shot.

Round 1 for Macduff10 and ColumbusStorm

Great going, you two! Thanks for getting your round played, and for sharing such fulsome detail... It really is fascinating to see all of the stats. It gives a great sense of where the shots are lost. I'm betting neither of you get 32 putts very often. It makes a difference between 20-40 ft away on average with these sticks!

Mac, no of course you won't be punished, especially as Russ captured all the stats for both of you. It's just that without a way to report the stats, you can't win the special prizes for best GIR and lowest Av. Distance to Pin.

And your pics are fine: we can right-click open in new window to see them in their full glory.

Russ, you sure did get it covered! Thanks so much. BTW: is your Driver shot the convention to show the whole bag? It's a neat way to do it!

Couldn't agree more... I especially love that it's a visual gauge and not a numerical one, forcing us to bring 'feel' into the shot.

I'm hoping they don't dial it down too much in the next update. I think the risk/reward is good right now. Just like in a real Major, you really do get punished if you find trouble (and especially so if you try any heroics from that trouble). Ultimately, it adds good course management into the mix in order to grind out a round anywhere near par.

    -----------------------------------

That's us at 4 matches played (or part way through), with another couple set for tomorrow morning (alosso, as mentioned above, and my own round with Kurt).

There's just a few days left till Sunday's deadline for the first round: how is everyone else doing scheduling with their playing partners? Please let us know your progress in this thread, and whether or not you might need a marker... it sounds as if some of us are having such fun, there'll be no shortage of volunteers!
