    ColumbusStorm:
Still seems from the fairway an even lie takes too much distance off of a shot. However I do realize I'm not that familiar with the play of the starter clubs and ball anymore, so can't really complain too much yet. At least 3 more rounds worth of experience for me to make a legitimate evaluation.

Russ, I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear you say you need more experience to make a legitimate evaluation. I fear that a lot of the thread responses to Uneven Lies came within a few days of its introduction and were based on at most a round or two of hurried (and harried) trial. I almost wish WGT had a way of filtering feedback from anyone who hadn't played a certain number of completed rounds (but maybe that would be a bit Big-Brotherish!).

It is possible to figure it out, and get some proficiency at the Uneven Lies. I agree that the distance loss from sidehill lies doesn't feel right, and partly for me that's because it doesn't really match real life.

For those of you looking for some tips, and not wanting to trawl through the many different threads, a great place to start would be the last 3 pages or so (pp24-26) of this main Uneven Lies thread, where YankeeJim, Cerino, and Zag in particular, offer great pointers and pics on how to approach Unevens. (And you'll also see a bit of silliness from me!)

Thanks, had a dog of a time getting out of a few bunkers, resulting in max shots reached. Kinda embarrassing, but what are ya going to do.

Here's the RSG  front 9 card Spino and I played yesterday. I'd like to play the back 9 and add the two cards together. As for the stats, I suppose we'll use whatever we generate on the back 9.

    Hi Micha,

Yes, that would work great. Thanks for keeping us updated. Please do report on whether you can get scheduled with bill.

Round 1 scorecard for Corwyn and myself, winds were toughest on the toughest holes, all in all a real battle out there to stay safe an avoid disaster.  Fun game.  LOL

Well, Kurt (Kurtsbuford) and I just finished our round. Kurt played beautifully while I had my worst round all week (ah well, nothing like the pressure of the real tourney...)

Kurt was on for our first under-par round until the last hole (and with only a couple of holes of practice, so he's quite the player!). For a while on the Front 9 (till the 9th) his Av Distance to Pin was 4ft, courtesy of a sweet approach on #2, almost holing his 2nd on the great #4 (you gotta share that replay, Kurt!), and getting close on #7 too.

[Note, everyone, that Av Distance to Pin only calculates from those holes where you get on in regulation, and ignores par 3s, so it's possible to get a low score there even if you don't hit many greens: you just have to be close when you do!]

Thanks for being my partner today, Kurt. You're now our front-runner.

Well Spino and I played our back 9 to the finish this time so I didn't have to blow a gasket again. We has some serious fun and played our butts off trying to keep it on the island. I'm going to list the front 9 from yesterday and today's back 9 as our score. We'll use today's stats because I hadn't thought of screen grabbing the stats after 9 holes yesterday like I did with the scorecard.

    Spino-76                           CD -70
