    WGF Tour 2012 - Week 13

    CLOSE OF PLAY EXTENSION UNTIL 3PM GMT ON TUESDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2012

    Round 3 - Cut

    We’ve finally reached the last cut of the season as next week’s Tour Finals sees each group of players competing against each other over four rounds. Please be aware that R3 this week is played over 18 holes. I’m happy for players to split this up into a F9 and B9 if players are limited for time.

    The first two rounds of the Barclays has seen the dominant players come to the fore. Priestess shot into an early lead like a whippet up a trouser leg hitting an excellent combined score of -15. No-one has surpassed this effort but Mr. Consistent, AllyKennedy is hanging around like a bad smell being only one off Tess’s leading mark. Excellent scoring by players such as Terbal, Madloopy and jcgfree have left them well positioned to move up the tour standings into higher profile events in the Tour Final week.

    Kurtsbuford was back to his normal haunt this week (the 19th hole) having just come off the back of a hard round at Oakmont. He was heard to proclaim that Priestess is so determined to hold on to her WGA / WGF Tour Champion title that she’s taken to “using witchcraft out there”. Digging deeper into Kurt’s tall tale, our reporters have discovered that there could well be some truth to this matter. Tess’ bag on the practice range has been seen to be adorned with three doll-like figures - one in a kilt with Ally written on it’s forehead, a second drapped in an Italian flag and with Demcug on it’s back and the final one looking a lot like a donkey with FJ3000 on its a*s.
    Rumours that Tess was seen to be smashing the donkey with her pitching wedge are still to be proven but FJ3000’s opening score of 32 could well back up this claim.

    Round 3 pairings follow in the link below. Please remember this is an 18 holer so will need extra time to get your game played. F9 and B9’s can be played separately. Please look to get your rounds organised ASAP.

    Round 3 Conditions
    Course = Best of Famous (Full 18)
    Hole Location = N/A
    Tees = Champion (Hardest)
    Green speed = Tournament
    Winds = High
    Lies = Even
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    End of R3 = Monday 1st October 2012 at 3pm GMT
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Please use the link below to find your designated partner. Try to make all attempts to play with this individual but if it's not possible use the following method:

    - use one of the ten R3 Markers (named in original WGF thread); markers are to remember that their first round counts as their R3 score

    - if not possible, use a WGF Tour player who you have not partnered with during R1 and R2

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The regular season sees the final event for the WGF in it’s usual format. With next week’s Tour Finals seeing all the qualifying players grouped dependant upon the regular season finishing position, this is your last chance to pull yourself up the table to compete in a higher prize value event in Week 14.

    For those players who have only got five events under their name, it’s essential that you finish this week as only players with 6 finished events can qualify for the Tour Finals. The final week will also see a slightly amended format with four rounds being played instead of three.

    The Barclays plays host to the WGF Tour Playoff which sees more qualification points on offer than at any stage in the tour to date. Lots of movement can take place with a high finish so keep aiming to shoot low throughout this event.

    As with previous weeks, the scorecard and greenshot needs to be submitted by one player from your group. As there is no equipment restriction this week, only one person needs to do this but please take a backup shot just in-case. All players need to still submit their own scores using the link provided. Course conditions are as follows:

    Round 1 Conditions
    Course = Oakmont (Front 9)
    Hole Location = Hard
    Tees = Champion (Hardest)
    Green speed = Slow
    Winds = High
    Lies = Even

    Round 2 Conditions
    Course = Olympic (Back 9)
    Hole Location = N/A
    Tees = White (Medium)
    Green speed = Tournament
    Winds = Moderate
    Lies = Even

    End of R1 & R2 deadline = Thursday 27th September 2012 at 3pm GMT

    Sorry for not getting a green shot, I had a 5.4 foot putt for par that was downhill 6 inches to size up and was so absorbed with the quandary of how to make it that I promptly forgot the snapshot.

    Here's the scorecard though....

    Geof played brilliantly

    damn slow greens caught us all out..Very poor round from all of us it has to be said.  Dem did well to recover from bogey on the 1st and prob played the best for sure, but nowhere near our best on this one.
