OBR- High level, high average and low tier is not indicative of someone who should be arbitrarily moved up in tier. There are many of us who are recreational players who don't have the skills or ability to play at the next tier up. Those of us who choose not to play for credits are not hurting anyone where we're at. We're just playing the game for fun at the place in the game we belong. A much better indicator is analyzing what and how a player is competing.

Consideration of level should only factor when it is combined with credits won in what format against whom. Level should not be a determining factor regarding tier by itself.

I disagree with OldBay because there are honest players that enjoy the game and are high levels but have not tiered up for honest reasons.

The reason players "sandbag", is to earn credits on an unbalanced playing field.  If the tier level is also attached to earnings through tournament and more importantly challenge play, the "sandbaggers" ability to earn credits will be much more temporary than it is currently and will not inadvertently affect honest players.

Not that I am a sand bagger in any way because i usually don't score well but my avg went from 74 or a 72+ last week to a 67 this week. I do not know how I did this as most of my ranked rounds are at or usually above par. I do play decently to win in match play as i just play boring fairway-green-2 putt golf and usually let the other person make a mistake. I just I did have one nine hole that I did OK on but that was about it. I been around for some time and just plod along and play. I did also just recently spent a crazy amount of time doing surveys and watching videos to earn credits and buy equipment. I just don't need to be tossed in the shark tank and not understanding why my average keeps going down every day I play. I do agree some things need to be done because I normally get my hat handed to me by a level 80 pro with premium equipment. I would prefer to play a master to tour legend and be beat 5&4. I am a fair player and help some of the rookies out in the course. i just don't understand how my average keeps going down down down.

That seems to be the problem already..

You could be a Level 100 Pro and I'd play you...

Just not for credits...........which should be the criteria for getting teired up/RG wins etc

I could spend 1/2 an hour a day and see 20+ ppl that need to go up...not apply one rule across the board

Looks like the few bad apples are still spoiling it for the recreational masses....Andy

Well you hear about these L90 pros but I'm yet to lose to anyone who isn't a legend in a credit match :p

For any and all concerned with inappropriate representation of abilities I would suggest that through due diligence be performed before playing anyone for credits that you do not know.

    This is simple common sense.

Before you label someone as misrepresenting their true playing abilities, be able to prove it with facts, not rumor or innuendo!

Case in point:  Level 93, (45,000 to Level 94), Tour Master, Over 1500 rounds, active member since 12/09, still a hole in one, double eagle virgin, could have purchased even better equipment than I presently use, Never QUIT!, will play a round with anyone any where, unless you are a QUITTER! or it is a 30 second clock.

With this information available to anyone who chose to review my Profile page, how is it possible for this person be thrown into the category of Sandbagger?  Yet in this forum entry 1 know it all legend has done so.

I think whatever steps WGT is taking to help ease a major concern of those players who make unwise choices in who they play for credits with, is commendable, BUT I think a real good dose of common sense should be required.  My Nickle!

Srillim234 N Cycle1979...I believe my comments stated lots of players not all ... Both of you are at Master and above,  you are or have been progressing up through the tiers but there are a lot of lower tier players who through being able to level up equip themselves with equipment that gives them a distinct unfair advantage over other players. Most of those could care less if they ever tier up as long as they can get the best equipment and beat other players. Sorry but to me that isn't right. Either tier up those players or restrict them from purchasing equipment that gives them a distinct advantage. Personally I could care less if I win or lose as long as I'm having a good time with the people I play.

I say this not for my benefit because I wouldn't play them for credits or not to begin with. There has been so much flap in the forums over this and now that wgt is trying to come up with a way to put a stop to a lot of this then I added my suggestion. Whether anything is done or not to be honest is no sweat off my back because if I run into what I think are players like that poof they or I am gone before a match gets started which is my perogative. I do play a lot of lower tier players most of which are in my CC some aren't and I'll play and help most any lower tier to the best of my ability as there were a lot of kind upper tiers that helped me along the way and still do. To me that is what this game is about.

Sandbagger to people on this has so many different reasons to how they are sandbaggers it getting tiresome. All you have to do is say something in this forum, and you could called a sandbagger. You could be playing just as good as you possibly can, and still be called a sandbagger. No matter what you can do, and still be called a sandbagger. Go ahead tear my post apart. Its normal for this forum.

    Just relax.

We have been complaining about sandbaggers since I don't know when.  They are a real and proven problem.  Are they a bit overstated?  Maybe.  But, the problem is real.

Are there players that truly aren't very good?  Yes.....lots of them.  Do they play for credits?  Not for long most likely.

Is there going to be a problem differentiating between the two?  Heck yes.

Is it going to upset the honest?  Yes, it should.

Ok, now that we have that out of the way...........Why is it so insulting to everyone?  If you don't play for credits, it doesn't concern you if I decline a match with you because I think you're a potential cheat.  It doesn't matter what you say to me, I'm not going to change my mind.  Just move on.  There are plenty of other players on WGT that will still play you.  You don't need me.....or my opinion.

The movie Roadhouse comes to mind.  "Well, what if someone calls my momma a whore?"  To which Swayze retorts, "Well, is she?"

It's the internet, people.  Lots of big fish in small ponds walking around with a bigger than life Napoleon Complex.   They lie, cheat, and insult you at every turn.  There's no way they are ever going away because they are likely your neighbor, cousin, maybe even your pastor.

Common sense can avoid these people most of the time, but it's not perfect.  But, common sense should also prevail when you so easily get insulted.  It's just the internet where a 19 year old kid has access to a debit card and still sits at home on a Saturday night because he can't get a date.  I don't let these people get to me.  I actually pity them because instead of learning real people skills, they continue to hide behind their computer monitor...........the only place in life they find a smidge of success.
