You could always just punch a driver for short putts.

A huge additional benefit to making your own is that it becomes a "Swing Pal" not just a Putter Pal. It's available for every shot with every club.

Very true, then you can take what ever you calculate your shot based on Distance,Wind, Elevation, Lie Factor, Back spin/Top spin and use that distance divided by the nearest club length in your bag will give you the perentage factor to use on your swing/putter scale.

I made my own back when I first started playing wgt with an index card.  But then the putter pal came along and I used it for a while.

Now I just visualize the  marks on the meter and hope for the best.  lol

Thing is now,  it is easier to make your own.  Purchase 10 hits of the putter pal, then use a card, or paper or whatever you'd like and trace the marks of the putter pal.

I'm thinking the protective over lays for cell phones would work,  cut a piece to the size of the meter and trace the putter pal right on the screen.

For shots with other clubs,  it doesn't help so much since you don't want to choke too much off the shots.  Pitch shots work well when you know how many avatar movements to move per different shot distances.

Practice round....   hit shot one avatar movement from full,  write down the distance, then with two avatar movements from full swing....yadda yadda .  same with back spin and without.  and for pitch/flop/chip/ punch.

Be careful...it could mess up your real life short game....Speaking from experience. ;-)

I see the value it a ruler. I know for me I try as much as possible not to have to hit any shots below 90%. Plus you can you use the swing movements as there are 11 of them. I know when the last movement happens that is is 91.66% of a full shot.
