    Just an observation folks.

If you happen to roll that extra few inches on the green and end up on the fringe, the game automaically gives you the "magic mallet" - the putter strength of 100 foot or similar.

Has anyone ever had to use such brute force from the fringe to get it near the hole ?

    Give a flop... better not...

The best you can do with this distance, use a punch. That will be the acuratest shot you can do. Your wedges have enough spin, to make this with a short distance to the cup.

Depends how far you are from the pin, if you only a mm or 2 of fringe set the putter increment to whatever you would normally use, if pin further away, pitch, chip or flop, all depends on terrain and whats between you and the hole..

I personally never putt from the fringe, prefer to chip if under 12yds or pitch/flop if more than 12..

    Peace

    Hmmmm that's sounds logical Hahahahah

Actually boys what I was getting at is - IS THIS POTENTIALLY A BUGGY FEATURE ?

Whenever you land in the fringe the game runs away to the 100 foot putter mode automatically (or so I have observed) irregardless of the actually distance you have to go !!

I agree and I don't know why it's there;playing alternate the other day with some fellow legends, everybody yapping away ,did'nt realise I was on the fringe, line up my putt real good,I'm confident I'm gonna make it and "wham"the meter was at 150,my putt was about 12 feet.I felt really stupid and that cost us the match too .There is no reason for that feature. If someone can give me a good reason why the meter goes so high just cause your on the fringe,I'd like to know what it is.

I use the 100 foot scale a lot. 1 avatar movement with a female avatar will go close to 12 feet on standard green speeds so it is probably the scale I use most often. Using the higher scales means less meter travel so there is less chance more a meter skip and is easier to ding because you don't have to wait as long for the meter to get to the ding bar.

THIS!!  And (risking sounding like a jerk) I think I'm a fine putter.
