Guess the cut line at Oakmont

  65 Oakmont

  64 St Andrews

  I was so close to a 63 at Oakmont, unfortunately the 9th hole and a 22yd putt (in my book an automatic 3 maybe 4 putt) put a lone bogey on my round.  2nd 64, for me, and I dont think I can do better then maybe a stroke or 2 better at my best.  I had some lucky putts for my 2 64's.  Kudos to the 61 and 62's on the board.

  I'm figuring in the middle sixities, too.  Oakmont may be a liitle less.  Old Course a little more.  It'll be interesting to see how it all comes out.

  Too many great players around here and with the quality of the equipment, when combined with the unlimited play, can't expect the cut lines to go higher than this.  Which is a shame for me, because I won't be close, but I'll take my shots anyway.

  Love the setup on both; there is incentive to continue to at least play them even if you think you have qualified, otherwise the single play tourneys are going to be a total shock to the system.  Anyway, my guesses:

  Oakmont: 68

  St. Andrews: 64

  Agreed there are a ton of great players, but I think a lot of them have already posted rounds in the low 60's in both qualifiers.  Even with unlimited play, staying consistent over 18 holes at Oakmont is so tough. I had a 29 on the front 9 and then blew up on the back. Good luck to everyone!

  I wholheartedly disagree about the setups!! St. Andrew's is awesome; Oakmont certainly plays tough but is the most boring layout/track I've seen on this site..I'd rather play the 9 hole CTP challenge on the Bali Hai course than trudge through the Battan Death march @ Oakmont experience again..absolutely uninspiring.What I'd love to see is 18 hole stroke play on the Wolf Creek track--now THAT would be a blast..!!
