Seve, I saved you some time and effort and went ahead with putting together a spreadsheet for the American rankings.

These rankings are up to date, including July's scores and points. (Seve, please doublecheck that I assigned points properly for July.  I think I did...)

American Ryder Cup Qualifying Standings - Through July International

Further entries for the American squad are closed!  If you missed it, you missed it.  You'll have to wait for next year.

Wow, thanks, great job! I'll steal that link and put it on the main page if you don't mind.

Btw, the first time I clicked on it it was working but now it doesn't let me see it, perhaps you have to reset it to allow everyone to view it?

I've updated part of the front page of the thread. In the "game format" part I've included a more detailed explanation of the three parts of the Ryder Cup. Please let me know if there's anything that isn't clear.

While I'm on here, a reminder to all Team World challengers that this weeks 18 hole tournament is their last chance to post a score to try to qualify.

After this, Paul and I will have a recount of all scores. There won't be any big changes, but it may be that we find some little mistake, so don't start making exact calculations of what score you need to qualify because you might end up with one point more or one point less than what you thought you had. Good luck.

    Hi Seve,

Great explanation on the game format - that certainly clears up a few queries I had.

Just as a matter of interest - do we have any idea when the actual Ryder Cup itself will be played?

C'mon Team World lets get those scores in.

    Cheers Doug

I've made a slight change to the explanations because now that we can choose the course and the conditions we will play in, I thought it would be better if we all played in exactly the same conditions.

The Ryder Cup will start on the 15th of September. The qualifying finishes today for Team World and next week for U.S.A., but then I'm off for a wekk and I'll be back on the 7th. Then we will have a week to sort a few things out, like the Captain's picks, the pairings, and then... we will start!

USA Ryder Cup Qualifying Standings - Through Week 33 Stroke Play

Early congratulations are in order for gitthe , SmoothSwinger , Hightower3 & jeffdos924 !!  This is a practice week for them as all 4 players have clinched a spot on the 2009 United States Ryder Cup team!  Way to go guys (and gal)!

There are still 5 automatic bids to be decided in this final week!  Play your best this week and remember that if you don't finish in the top 9 you are still not out!  I will be selecting 2 players from the qualifying pool as my Captain's picks, so keep that in mind as you play your rounds this week.

Good luck to everyone in this final week of qualifying!

That's it! The long summer has nearly finished, and so does the qualifying process! U.S.A. have one week remaining and Team World have finished their qualifying process.

Congratulations to AvatarLee, Imcoola, Portsd, Paulmcm, Dorkfeatures, ZippyPivot, Dsdiego, Seveking and Ryan.Anderson!

Together with TallAcePaul they are ten of the twelve players that will represent the world!

Please take a moment to look at my blog posts on my profile. You will find the leaderboard and all the scores and points for every month/week. Please check that there are no mistakes with your scores.

Thank you very much to all those who didn’t manage to qualify for having a go at it and making this tournament possible. As you know, there will be two more members of the team who will be chosen by the Captain.
