I'll sub or be an alternate if you need one.

Generally don't sign up for these 7 rounders, seems that it takes 2 months to get the first couple of rounds played and by then everyone has lost interest.  Hope this one goes better, I think I entered a couple from last year that still haven't finished.

Okay, just some humble advices from a fellow tournament organizer:

Set time limits for the rounds, at max 2weeks, no excuses. In case the game is not played within that time, set a time that both players HAVE to be available at the end of the time period. The one who isnt loses, in case both aren't, both lose and the next round opponent gets a free ticket for that round!

Don't even think about extending the tournament to 256 players! lol

    Good luck with this tournament,

    Hans

I'm working on an alternative to this for a CC tournament to overcome the time zone difficulties. Use the weekly single play as a last resort. Have both players post a score there and use the tournament leaderboard standing or have the players post the scorecards and do it long hand and if that produces a tie, go to the position on the leaderboard.

Wow, combine this with a real matchplay shootout for the final 2-3 rounds and you have a great way to cope with a big playing field. Nice idea!

... but Matchplay is a different beast, and many of us are signing up for the chance to play against, and learn from, the best players even though we're expecting to lose 1st round (I know I am, lol!)

I'd suggest having the Weekly Single Play option as a last resort (as YJ mentioned), but giving pairings 1 week only (and strictly held) to get their game in. If they fail, it falls back to the Single Play that's already finished that prior week, so that there's no delay in moving on.

    My two cents...

Touche' Roy .. My error .. all fixed.

I also have to apologize to my CC mate Caker72.  Sorry Phil .. As I double checked I left out someone who had signed up 20 players before you.    Your the #1 alternate now.   The alternate list is now below the top 128.

While Buggyyyy is putting up 50K for first place  - which is amazingly generous - he still needs 30 sleeves of balls donated (10 for places 2, 3 and 4) and 12K (1K for places 5 - 16).   I'll post something later on to track donations and include those of you in this thread who have pledged already.   I'll throw in 1K creds myself from my dwindling bankroll.

I've also added a few things which you'll find interesting.
